Yamouth Betting Tips for Wednesday 3rd June: Through the Card Preview & Tips
We had to Yarmouth on Wednesday for our first turf flat meeting of the season and I really looking forward to this one.
I have 7 selections across the 10 races throughout the afternoon with some strong win selections as well as some cracking e/w bets. Lets hope for a successful day!

The first of my selections comes in the opener.
A competitive handicap to start proceedings and it looks full of unexposed sorts who are bound to improve this season. The market leader is the King Power owner Group One Power who is 2/2 and will prove a popular selection for many.
The horse I think is the value in this race is LADY LYNETTA 16/1 (EW). Trained by Richard Hughes she ran two solid races last season before improving to win a maiden at Newmarket in a eye-catching manor. The horse is entered for the Irish Oaks so connections must be confident she has improved over the winter and will be expecting a bold show today.
The second of my selections comes in the following race and it is the John Berry trained HOPE IS HIGH 8/1 (EW). Hope is High has a fine record round Yarmouth winning 3 out of his seven races and he has won on firm ground so should have no problem with today’s surface. De Sousa takes the ride which is an eye-catching jockey booking in my eyes and the 8/1 available seems more than fair in a competitive long distance handicap.
The third race on the card is a 5f sprint for 2-year-olds. I believe Archie Watson’ 2 year olds will make a strong start this season and I am confident it could start here with his horse OCEAN STAR 9/4 (WIN). Archie is a master at getting his 2-year-olds at peak fitness first time out and they never seem to need their first run. This seems more important than ever at the moment due to the delay in racing resuming and other trainers could easily be a step behind during the first few weeks. Ocean Star appeals on paper as a horse who should be suited to sprint races and I am expecting a big run here.
The 2.30 race is a Class 5 handicap over 7f and the market leader is the Amanda Perrett trained horse DUTCH STORY 5/4 (WIN) (NAP). I was really impressed with Dutch Story last time out as he won over this C+D by a staggering 8 lengths. I think this horse isn’t finished improving and the 8lb rise for winning last time out shouldn’t stop him here. I think he is the banker of the day.
My next selection comes in the 4.15 race on the card which is a 1m handicap and a race full of likely improvers. The market leader is Maydanny who represents Hamdan Al Maktoum in what appears to be a lenient mark first his handicap debut. 9/4 seems short enough in this one so I am happy to look for an e/w alternative.
The horse for me is CASEMENT 12/1 (EW). Casement scored on his seasonal debut last season which can only be a positive and his trainer Michael Appleby’s horses have started well. I think he has room for his improvement off his current mark and 12/1 is a cracking e/w punt in this one.
The 5.25 is arguable the toughest handicap on the card in what appears to be a wide-open heat full of unexposed horses.
The horse I like is IKEBANA 4/1 (WIN). Ikebana seems bound to improve being trained by Roger Varian and being owned by big racing owners Cheveley Park Stud. The step up in trip to 7f should bring out the necessary improvement and Varian now sends him handicapping expecting a big run.
The final race on the card is a 7f handicap and I think this race will go to NARAK 7/4 (WIN) (NB). There doesn’t appear to be much depth in terms of opposition here and Narak won very impressively last time out finishing strongly pulling clear from her rivals. I think a 7lb rise for that success is more than fair for her. The jockey booking of James Doyle is an interesting one for the George Scott team and I am expecting a winning favourite for punters in the finale.
