ITV Racing Opening Show Pundits Tips for the 2023 Cheltenham Festival

The ITV Racing pundits have given their tips for the 2023 Cheltenham Festival when they appeared on The Opening Show on Saturday morning and we have picked out the best selections from their picks below.

Cheltenham 2023 gets underway at 1.30pm on Tuesday 14th March and you can see our Supreme Novices Hurdle tips for the first race of the Festival.

Before we get into the Opening Show Cheltenham tips, Matt Chapman went through the Cheltenham Festival bankers including Constitution Hill, Jonbon and Delta Work.

Opening Show Cheltenham Tips 2023

Both Mick Fitzgerald and Leonna Mayor picked out their best Cheltenham tips for the Festival this year and Mick Fitz spoke about the Champion Chase clash between Energumene and Edwardstone. Fitzgerald fancied Impaire Et Passe in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle as his best bet of the week, closely followed by Edwardstone.

Leonna Mayor picked out Edwardstone as her Cheltenham banker for her Opening Show Cheltenham tips and her next best bet is a bit of a surprise, picking Sire Du Berlais. Her lay of the week is Facile Vega in the very first race, the Supreme Novices Hurdle.

Opening Show Tips for the Cheltenham Top Jockey

Matt Chapman went into some detail when looking at the Cheltenham top jockey market for the Festival. Paul Townend is a really short-priced favourite to take the title but Chappers says that it is very easy for Townend to be on the wrong horse, giving the likes of Patrick Mullins a chance of winning the crown.
