Aintree Lucky 15 Tips for Thursday 11th April – £1 Lucky 15 Returns £1062

Aintree tips

2:55 Aintree

The first selection in the lucky 15 comes up at 2:55 in the Grade 1 William Hill Bowl Chase over 3m1f.

It’s GERRI COLOMBE(6/4) for me here. Coming off a career-best effort when chasing up the best jumps horse in training in the Gold Cup in Galopin Des Champs, compensation awaits here. He obviously had a hard race there but it was a similar story last season when he came here after a fine second in the Brown Advisory Chase. He bolted up at Aintree the following month and I think he can do the same again here. The soft ground is certainly in his favour and it’s a concern for some of his chief market rivals. If he is anywhere near his best, he’ll be winning this.

3:30 Aintree

The next selection comes in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle and the selection is BOB OLINGER (11/8). He’s looked back close to his best this season winning his first two starts well at Navan and then at Cheltenham in the Relkeel. There was no disgrace in chasing home the Champion hurdler State Man at Leopardstown when we last saw him. He’s been kept fresh for this and the 2m4f trip looks his optimum.

4:40 Aintree

Our third selection comes in the competitive Red Rum Handicap Chase over the 2-mile trip.

The one I like is SAINT ROI (11/2). He has certainly been campaigned with a decent handicap in mind and I get the impression this test will suit him a lot more than the Grand Annual he ran in when last seen. He was sixth that day behind a couple of these but he meets them on much better terms here. He’s ran well here at Aintree finishing a fine second at Grade 1 level last year and the long straight will give Mark Walsh plenty of time to chase the leaders down. He’s proven on the ground too.

5:15 Aintree

The final selection comes in the finale, the Mares Bumper.

The one for me is MONGIBELLO (10/1) from the shrewd Shaun Crawford stable. She was really impressive when winning easily on deep ground at Down Royal on Boxing Day and the clock certainly backed that up. She since went to the DRF and things just didn’t quite go to plan in what was a muddling affair. I’d draw a line through that and I really think Aintree will suit her well. She will plough through the cut up heavy ground. She’s a point-point winner on heavy ground over 3m so stamina won’t be an issue. I think she’s the best bet of the day at the current prices.
