1.20pm – Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle | EL CAIROS (5/1) & MOSSY FEN ROAD (16/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
Old Park Star rightly sits at the head of the market after an 18-length demolition job in the Rossington Main at Haydock, earning an RPR of 150, and he’s going to take some stopping. But EL CAIROS at 5/1 is the one I want on my side as the horse most capable of putting it up to him. He looked very good at Christmas on hurdling debut before an unlucky fall at the last, and if he shows that ability again in his prep, he can go very close. MOSSY FEN ROAD at 16/1 is the each-way play at a big price for a smaller stable — he bolted up at Chepstow and could be better than he’s rated.

2.00pm – Singer Arkle Novices’ Chase | KOPEK DES BORDES (3/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
The doom around KOPEK DES BORDES‘ participation hasn’t materialised, and he’s too big at 3/1. There have been concerns about his well-being following his absence over Christmas, but with quiet positivity from Closutton, I’m happy to believe he can get to the Arkle. Willie Mullins has shown time and again that he can produce a horse for one run and have them winning Grade 1s — if Kopek gets to the race even off a single chase start, he won’t be going off at this price. The others have question marks; he has the ability.
2.40pm – Juvenile Handicap Hurdle | MUNSIF (25/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
MUNSIF at 25/1 is one I’m hoping qualifies — gets his third run — via the famous 4yo race at Naas, which has such a strong record of producing Fred Winter winners over the past decade. He’s not guaranteed to get there, but if he does run in this race, I cannot see him going off anywhere near the 25/1 he’s currently available at. He’s the kind of horse who gets sharply supported once connections confirm their target, so the time to take the price is now, not once it’s gone.
3.20pm – Ultima Handicap Chase | WENDIGO (14/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
A big-field handicap chase that can go many ways, but WENDIGO at 14/1 is firmly on the shortlist. He’s the type of horse Dan Skelton targets at the Festival with precision — progressive, lightly raced over fences by Festival standards, and should be well handicapped off his current mark. The Ultima has a strong record for unexposed chasers improving past more exposed rivals, and Skelton’s record in this style of race is among the best in the training ranks. He’s a horse that won’t be 14/1 if connections confirm this as the intended target.
4.00pm – Unibet Champion Hurdle | ALEXEI (22/1, each-way)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Champion Hurdle market has been turned on its head by the injury to ante-post favourite Sir Gino, while doubts remain over Lossiemouth’s participation — she may end up in the Mares’ Hurdle instead. With the Irish Champion Hurdle still to come at the Dublin Racing Festival, this race has more uncertainty than most. Lossiemouth’s main rival if she runs, The New Lion, is a horse I want to take on — he benefited from Sir Gino’s absence at Cheltenham Trials Day and needs to show considerably more against tougher opposition. ALEXEI at 22/1 each-way is the speculative play.
4.40pm – TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase | MADARA (16/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
MADARA at 16/1 is a horse that looks like he could be specifically targeted for this pot by the Skelton yard. He’s one I want on my side if he runs — and if he’s declared, that 16/1 will look very generous given the way Skelton preps his horses for the Festival. The Plate is a race where the trainer has shown real craft in the past, and a horse arriving fresh and well handicapped is exactly the profile that wins here. Back now and take the current price.
5.20pm – National Hunt Novices’ Handicap Chase | ONE BIG BANG (16/1, each-way)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The final race of Champion Day is a novice handicap chase where unexposed types hold a significant advantage. ONE BIG BANG at 16/1 each-way is the selection — he’s the sort of horse that improves steeply for fences, has the profile of a Festival handicapper, and connections will have targeted this race over the winter. The National Hunt Chase is well enough understood that trainers arrive with horses primed; take the price now before any firming up closer to declarations.

1.20pm – Turners Novices’ Hurdle | MIGHTY PARK (12/1) & ACT OF INNOCENCE (14/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Wednesday’s feature novice hurdle sees No Drama This End sitting alone at the head of the market, and he simply has to be taken on at the prices. MIGHTY PARK at 12/1 is the standout — wearing the green and gold, trained at Closutton, winning his maiden hurdle, eased down by 38 lengths. That doesn’t add up to a double-figure price, and Willie Mullins labelled the performance “special”. His RPR of 145 on his first completed hurdle start is extraordinary company. ACT OF INNOCENCE at 14/1 is the second pick — he moved from Nicholls to Henderson and impressed on hurdling debut, and looks capable of halving his price before the day.

2.00pm – Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase | THE BIG WESTERNER (10/1) & WESTERN FOLD (20/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Final Demand is short enough at 5/4, and while he’s a good horse, I need all the boxes ticked at that price, and there’s a black mark against him from last season. Taking him on with two each-way selections: THE BIG WESTERNER at 10/1 is the strong preference — Henry de Bromhead’s mare finished second in the Albert Bartlett, will only improve for jumping fences, and won well last time out against fellow Grade 1 winner Jade de Grugy. WESTERN FOLD at 20/1 is a fascinating each-way angle — the reigning Galway Plate champion is still a novice, already rated 157, and Gordon Elliott has previous for freshening up novice chasers to win first time up at the Festival.
2.40pm – BetMGM Cup Handicap Hurdle | IBERICO LORD (14/1, each-way)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Two JP McManus horses carry the money in the BetMGM Cup at massive ante-post prices. PUTURHANDSTOGETHER interests if stepped up to two and a half miles after winning the juvenile handicap here last year — he’ll carry my money wherever he goes. IBERICO LORD at 14/1 is the ante-post selection confirmed on the card. His Kempton victory was impressive, jumping and travelling really well throughout and quickening up after the last to score by four lengths, and the third horse boosted that form next time with a win at Newbury.
3.20pm – Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase | THE GOFFER (10/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase reverts to handicap status for 2026 after years as a conditions race, opening up the field considerably. Defending champion Stumptown carries top weight again and will be popular, but the switch back to handicap format means the weights become a key factor. THE GOFFER at 10/1 is the selection — he’s a horse with genuine cross-country experience, travels strongly in these unique conditions, and should be respected on a mark that gives him a fair chance. Willie Mullins’ stranglehold on this race via conventional chasers does not extend to Nicholls runners — that’s one of the strongest negative angles of the week.
4.00pm – BetMGM Queen Mother Champion Chase | L’EAU DE SUD (10/1) & QUILLIXIOS (16/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Marine Nationale defends at 6/4 and is too short in my view, despite his impressive winning margin last year. L’EAU DE SUD at 10/1 is worth backing — he’s won at course and distance this season, his form from last year’s Arkle holds up well, and there probably isn’t a better targeting trainer in the business right now than Dan Skelton. He’ll arrive fresh and will be significantly shorter come race day. QUILLIXIOS at 16/1 represents another previous Festival winner at a price that’s simply too big — he went at the last when potentially on his way to winning last year’s renewal, and his trainer, Paul Nicholls, has a proven record in this race.
4.40pm – Grand Annual Handicap Chase | BE AWARE (8/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Grand Annual is one of the toughest handicaps of the week — a 2m speed test over fences that often catches out the market leaders. Favourites have won just once in the last 12 renewals, and the pace scenario is crucial. BE AWARE at 8/1 is the confirmed ante-post selection on the race card. Runner-up to Burdett Road in the 2024 Greatwood Hurdle and third behind Fiercely Proud at Ascot next time, he ran well in defeat here in the Coral Cup last term behind Jimmy Du Seuil; but he’s taken his form up a level since being switched to fences with a win at Stratford on his chase debut followed by a trio of silver medal finishes in Graded company including here in November and when chasing home Lulamba at Sandown.
5.20pm – Weatherbys Champion Bumper | BROADWAY TED (18/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Champion Bumper closes Ladies Day and every winner of the last 12 renewals won their previous race — the strongest last-time-out trend of the entire Festival. Willie Mullins has dominated this race and will likely have leading contenders again in 2026. BROADWAY TED at 18/1 is the selection on the race card — an each-way play in a race where the market can move sharply in the days before declarations. Watch the market carefully; any Closutton horse with a recent win and a travelling style could be the one they really fancy.

1.20pm – Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle | BAMBINO FEVER (2/1) & CARRIGMOORNASPRUCE (16/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
My usual approach is to take on short-priced favourites at the Festival, and I came here fully intending to do so with BAMBINO FEVER — but I came up empty-handed trying to find a hole in her case. She carried all before her in four bumper starts last season, including the Cheltenham and Punchestown Grade 1s, and the stiff new course should suit this point-to-point winner. She was beaten first time out this season, which can be forgiven. Willie had the first five winners of this race, but has gone five without — that may change here. CARRIGMOORNASPRUCE at 16/1 is the each-way angle, improving under trainer Declan Queally.
2.00pm – Jack Richards Novices’ Chase | SLADE STEEL (16/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
The Jack Richards Novices’ Chase — run as a handicap for only the second time — has an interesting market, but the standout value is SLADE STEEL at 16/1. A Cheltenham Grade 1 winning hurdler off a mark of just 143, his chasing career hasn’t reached the expected heights following an injury-affected campaign, but jockey Darragh O’Keeffe has specifically mentioned this race as a potential target, noting the horse has been running a bit keen over 3m and that this mid-range trip on the stamina-demanding new course should be ideal. A former Supreme winner off a lenient mark won’t stay double figures once the race is confirmed as the target.
2.40pm – Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle | WODHOOH (13/8)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Lossiemouth clouds this race entirely — if she turns up, she’s basically impossible to oppose. But I think she runs in the Champion Hurdle, and if that’s the case, one mare we know is definitely going to turn up is the extremely likeable WODHOOH at 13/8. A winner of nine of her ten hurdle starts, she has all the attributes you want in this contest, which switches to the new course this year — favouring stamina over speed, which suits her profile perfectly. She won the Martin Pipe over course and distance last season. With Lossiemouth heading elsewhere, the price is short but justified.
3.20pm – Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle | HOME BY THE LEE (40/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Teahupoo and Bob Olinger filled the first two spots in the main trial at the Christmas meeting at Leopardstown, and both are expected here. The former was extremely impressive; the latter has Cheltenham in his bones — unbeaten in four runs at the track. The young pretender Honesty Policy is interesting but short enough for what he’s achieved. I’m taking a huge each-way flyer on HOME BY THE LEE at 40/1 — at 11 years old, the age is against him, but this race has produced two 10-plus year old winners in the last three years. At a wild price, I’m buying a lottery ticket on a horse that could be on a going day.
4.00pm – Ryanair Chase | JONBON (8/1)
Tip by Ciaran Murphy | Added 28th February 2026
Fact to File is even money with some firms and all his boxes need to be ticked at that price — his flop in the King George, while forgivable, is a legitimate cause for concern. JONBON at 8/1 must go down as one of the best horses never to win at the Festival — never outside the first two in 26 starts, winning over £1.5 million in prize money. His attitude is unquestionable. He should have been running over this intermediate trip far sooner; it was stamina that won the Clarence House for him, and yet he’s clearly no slouch for speed either. He’s a horse with unfinished business at Cheltenham, and this trip could finally be his.
4.40pm – Pertemps Network Final | ELECTRIC MASON (12/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Pertemps Final can be tricky to solve, but ELECTRIC MASON at 12/1 might be the answer. Chris Gordon’s gelding has shown improved form since stepping up in trip this season — he won at Haydock in November, jumping and travelling well to beat Hartington, and that race has already produced several subsequent winners, including a Grade 2 scorer. He remains open to further improvement as a relatively unexposed stayer, and his record after breaks of over 90 days reads 3122, so lack of a recent run shouldn’t be a major concern. The seven-year-old is potentially up to the task of giving his owners a famous Festival win.
5.20pm – Kim Muir Challenge Cup | J’ARRIVE DE L’EST (12/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
J’ARRIVE DE L’EST at 12/1 is the each-way play in Thursday’s closer, and the market is beginning to point his way. A four-time winner over fences in France before joining Emmet Mullins, he’s twice been runner-up in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase here in December and January, most recently beaten eight lengths by Favori De Champdou despite receiving 23lb. Switching to a conventional track could see him gain his first victory for his new yard, and connections appear to be steering towards this race rather than Wednesday’s Cross Country — if he runs here off a lenient mark, he goes close.
Cheltenham Tips – Day 4, Friday 13th March (Gold Cup Day)
Full Day 4 tips and analysis →
1.20pm – JCB Triumph Hurdle | PROACTIF (7/1) & FEEL GUT (25/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
The Triumph Hurdle market is packed with expensive recruits from France and off the flat, but PROACTIF at 7/1 is the one I want for March. He jumped beautifully on his Irish debut at Fairyhouse, went away from his stablemate over the last, and will improve for the run. If he comes on as expected for that second start, he could take the world of beating. FEEL GUT at 25/1 is the big price play — Nicky Henderson’s recruit bolted up on debut in a manner that made me sit up watching live. He could barely have been more impressive; he put the race to bed in a matter of strides and has top-class potential. Take the 25/1 while it lasts.
2.00pm – William Hill County Handicap Hurdle | ROC DINO (25/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
Ten of the last eleven County Hurdle winners came from either Willie Mullins or Dan Skelton — you don’t have to overthink it. LIVE CONTI at 12/1 has shortened sharply from 33/1 since Fortune De Mar’s setback confirmed him as Mullins’ County horse, and he looks well-primed after five runs. ROC DINO at 25/1 is the bigger-price play — he needs one more run to qualify, but is entered to take on El Cairos in a maiden, and after that, he would be a different price entirely if he runs well. The market will find both of these before the day; there’s value at current quotes.
2.40pm – Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase | DIVA LUNA (14/1) & JADE DE GRUGY (12/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
Taking on the top of the market with two each-way chances in the Mares’ Chase. DIVA LUNA at 14/1 is the preference — Ben Pauling is delighted with her campaign so far this season after not being happy with her last year, and she’s taken well to fences in both starts. A small setback ruled her out of the Scilly Isles but she should be fine for spring. JADE DE GRUGY at 12/1 has been on the radar all season — she won as she liked at Thurles last time and if Lossiemouth goes to the Champion Hurdle, the likely favourite in this race gets shorter and my selection looks better value still.
3.20pm – Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle | THEFLYINGKING (33/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
The Albert Bartlett has produced big-price winners in recent years and is a race I don’t like to over-commit to early. My one play is THEFLYINGKING at 33/1 — he’s been entered here and holds entries over the right trip, fell when clear on his debut over 2m6f, and Gordon Elliott clearly believes he stays. He hasn’t been seen since mid-November, which raises questions about his well-being, but if he runs again before the Festival and enhances his claims, this price will vanish. Willie Mullins’ novice hurdle strength makes it hard to be dogmatic about any selection, but 33/1 for a Gordon Elliott horse with real credentials is a fair bet.
4.00pm – Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup | GALOPIN DES CHAMPS (11/2) & JANGO BAIE (7/1)
Tip by Adam O’Brien | Added 29th January 2026
This is one of the most open Gold Cups in recent memory — around two points separates the top four in the market, and any of the top eight could realistically win. I simply cannot let GALOPIN DES CHAMPS go unbacked at 11/2 — he’s looking to become the first horse to regain the Gold Cup since Kauto Star in 2009. He was dethroned by Inothewayurthinkin last year when he never travelled, but his comeback run over Christmas was encouraging. Back him now, watch him in the Irish Gold Cup, and hope he gets to Cheltenham sound — because if he does, he won’t be this price. JANGO BAIE at 7/1 is the alternative — a King George runner-up who put in a career-best effort at Kempton and has every reason to improve again.

4.40pm – Festival Challenge Cup | MUSIC DRIVE (12/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Festival Challenge Cup — the amateur riders’ race that follows the Gold Cup — could see MUSIC DRIVE at 12/1 improve on last season’s fourth-place finish. Kelly Morgan’s gelding hasn’t run under Rules since winning over course and distance last May, beating a subsequent Aintree and Stratford winner in Grachus De Balme, but he’ll be fit from point-to-point runs in the meantime. He’s a nine-year-old with relatively few miles on the clock, plenty of course experience from his younger days, and his rider will be considerably more streetwise this time around. The combination of course know-how and a fresh pair of legs makes him an each-way play.
5.20pm – Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Hurdle | I STARTED A JOKE (12/1)
Tip by Brian Healy | Added 28th February 2026
The Festival closer is a graveyard for favourites — conditional jockeys add an extra layer of unpredictability to an already tough handicap. I STARTED A JOKE at 12/1 from Charles Byrnes’ yard has looked a potentially useful sort since going hurdling this season. Placed in three straight starts before winning at Punchestown by eight lengths, he then went agonisingly close at Leopardstown, beaten just over a length, having travelled best into the straight. The front pair pulled six clear, but there’s better to come from the seven-year-old over this longer trip. If the ground proves no issue — and there are quicker conditions at Cheltenham to consider — he can run a big race to close the Festival.

Betting on Cheltenham 2026 Tips – Key Questions Answered
What is the Cheltenham Festival?
The Cheltenham Festival is the most prestigious National Hunt racing meeting in the world, held annually at Prestbury Park in Cheltenham over four days in March. It features 28 races across four days, with Grade 1 championship races sitting alongside top-class novice events and some of the most competitive handicaps in jump racing. The 2026 running takes place from Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th March.
What are the biggest races at the Cheltenham Festival?
The four most-searched races at the Festival are the Cheltenham Gold Cup (4pm, Friday 13th March), the Queen Mother Champion Chase (4pm, Wednesday 11th March), the Champion Hurdle (4pm, Tuesday 10th March) and the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (1.20pm, Tuesday 10th March). The Gold Cup is the feature race of the entire meeting and the richest National Hunt prize in the UK.
What if the horse I backed ante-post doesn’t run?
For most ante-post bets, the stake is lost if your horse doesn’t run — that’s the nature of ante-post betting and why the prices are generally bigger than day-of-race odds. However, many bookmakers now offer non-runner no bet (NRNB) protection on Cheltenham races, which means your stake is returned if your selection doesn’t line up. Our non-runner no bet guide explains exactly which firms offer this and how to ensure your bet is placed in an NRNB market. Betfred offer NRNB on all 28 Festival races as standard.
Can I place an each-way bet at Cheltenham?
Yes, each-way bets are available on every race at the Festival. The number of places paid depends on the field size and the individual bookmaker — handicaps with large fields typically pay four or five places. For the best value on each-way bets, check our Cheltenham extra places guide, which shows which bookmakers are offering additional places on specific races throughout the week.
How often does the favourite win the Cheltenham Gold Cup?
Around 40-45% of Gold Cup winners have been the market favourite on the day, making it a race where backing the favourite isn’t a losing strategy long-term — but it’s far from a certainty either. Of the last 15 renewals, roughly six have gone to the favourite. The race has a strong record for market leaders, but at short prices, value is rarely on the favourite’s side.
Can you get enhanced odds at Cheltenham?
Yes. Every major bookmaker runs daily enhanced odds promotions throughout the Festival week. You’ll typically find price boosts from the morning of each race day on the feature Grade 1s. Bet365 run daily Super Boost promotions, while Betfred, William Hill and Coral all enhance prices throughout the week. Check our existing customer offers page for a daily update of what’s available.
Who are the best pundits for Cheltenham Festival tips?
The most followed Cheltenham pundits in the UK are Tom Segal (Pricewise, Racing Post), Ruby Walsh (ITV Racing, widely regarded as the greatest Festival jockey of all time), Mick Fitzgerald (ITV Racing, strong on chasing races), Matt Chapman (known for big-price selections) and Kevin Blake (deep form analyst). We publish all of their Cheltenham tips with links to their best current prices on our dedicated pundit tips page.
How does Best Odds Guaranteed work at Cheltenham?
Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) means that if you take an early price on a horse and the starting price is higher, the bookmaker pays out at the bigger price. This is particularly valuable at Cheltenham, where market moves can be significant in the hours before a race. Bet365 offer BOG on all Cheltenham races from 8am on the day of the race. Our bet365 Cheltenham page explains all their Festival promotions including BOG, daily boosts and their NRNB markets.
