Premier League Predictions from Reddit Users for this Season

The Premier League season is almost here and we have looked through the Reddit Premier League predictions thread and picked out some of the best comments ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Reddit users have been putting their thoughts and predictions forward ahead of the new season with opinions on clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City in the title race and clubs like Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle in the race for the Champions League. Read on to see some of the most popular Reddit comments as we get closer to the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season.  

Title Contenders

Manchester City: Many believe that City will be strong contenders again, especially if they manage to keep their key players fit. “Man City gonna win it.” Reddit User Enough-Pain3633 said:

“Man City gonna win it. Liverpool might win the UCL”

Reddit User Tribe_KPtG said: 

“idk man they (Chelsea) look scary, and if pep keeps starting gundo, kova and bernardo 90% of the games over the young players, it’s not gonna be too good for city.”

Liverpool: Liverpool is expected to be a major force, potentially even winning the league if they can avoid dropping silly points. “Liverpool might win the UCL” Arsenal: Arsenal is predicted to be a strong team, possibly even better than last season if they can stay healthy and make key signings. “Arsenal if they sign Gyokeres . Liverpool 2nd .” Reddit User Intelligent-View-834 said:

“What’s funny with that? player for player as it stands they (Arsenal) have better players than Liverpool (better defence and easy midfield, just not attack – but adding Gyokeres might change that). Finished above them 2/3 in the last 3 seasons and could argue they didn’t last season because of injuries. People just like to hate Arsenal”

 

Champions League Qualification

Chelsea: After a tumultuous few seasons, Chelsea is expected to be back in the top four, thanks to their strong squad and potential new signings. “Chelsea’s attack is going to be 🔥 with João Pedro.” Reddit User Cafu2Roma said:

“Arsenal has the best defense, more offensive depth, and hasn’t had a major overhaul. This is their year! Liverpool may have more talent but I could see the new signings taking time to mesh. Chelsea’s attack is going to be 🔥 with João Pedro. Can’t see City defending well enough to win it and see Forest as the best of the rest.”

Newcastle United: Newcastle is seen as a team that could challenge for a Champions League spot if they can manage their squad effectively. “Newcastle might lose Isak…”

Manchester United: While not heavily favored, there is some belief that United could make a push for the top four. “Manchester United” Aston Villa: Villa is expected to be competitive but might struggle to match the consistency of the top teams. “Villa have 2 extra games in Europe…” Reddit User didiandgogo said:

“It’s just a question of whether Europe asks too much of their squad. Newcastle fell apart in December last year because of the demands of the schedule. Villa have 2 extra games in Europe (and having taken 6 points already, a decent chance of more to come). I agree with the prediction here that November and December will be a chance for Newcastle to put points on the board when Villa, Spurs and Chelsea will be playing twice a week every week.”  

Potential Outperformers

Nottingham Forest: Some Redditors believe that Forest could outperform expectations, possibly even challenging for a European spot. “Forest? Interesting. You think they can match up with the rest?” Reddit user ChardMassive9479 said: “I think I base it on 3-4 things.

1. Nuno is staying till 2028. He is an exciting coach, one who can build an exciting project, the long-term deal signals towards the same.
2. They were quite locked in to the top 4 till nearly the last month when they collapsed, this means their core is solid.
3. Newcastle, might lose Isak, I personally am actually a bigger fan of Seisko and if they sign him well and good, but they’re also playing CL this season, with an expanded mandate, its worth speculating how the wear and tear will look.
4. I think Villa are more or less the same, or I may not be the most well informed, but I think here it came down to a personal bias for me, in re, Forests games against Liverpool. Which is, it takes a certain level of mindset to go against the table toppers and halt them twice, so i think beyond physical capabilities they may have the mindset set in well and that might help them.”
