Fantasy Football Captain Tips for Gameweek 22

Who should be your Premier League Fantasy Football captain for Gameweek 22 this weekend? The FPL returns after a week off for the FA Cup Third Round matches and there are a few decent looking options for the armband this week. It was a disappointing week for many in Gameweek 21 with few captaincy options delivering but with the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Leicester playing at home against teams below them, there looks to be a few good options for FPL captain. Here is our look at this week’s best picks.

Jamie Vardy

Price – £10.1m Fixture – Southampton (home) GW21 return – did not play. The Leicester forward has missed the last two games but should be set to make a return against Southampton. Many managers have sold Vardy but his form prior to his absence suggests they could be making a mistake. He remains the top FPL point scorer thanks to a remarkable run of ten consecutive attacking returns between Liverpool games. Leicester have rarely failed to score this season whilst only Watford have conceded more than the Saints.

Marcus Rashford

Price – £9.1m Fixture – Norwich (home) GW21 return – 2pts Rashford’s form appears to have tailed off somewhat but the English forward has continued ticking over. Goals against Newcastle and Burnley in Gameweeks 19 and 20 respectively have put him up to 12 for the season. Manchester United looked poor last time out against Arsenal but there is cause for optimism against lesser opposition. Sadio Mané (12.3m) vs Tottenham

Price – £12.3m Fixture – Tottenham (away) GW21 return – 8pts It’s difficult to pick which Liverpool asset has the highest potential. The fixture looks tough on paper, but Spurs have looked far from their best and Liverpool are, of course, still unbeaten. With a goal in each of his last two, Mané pips Salah in our FPL captain tis for this week. Mané is 20 points ahead of his Egyptian teammate for the season with an extra goal and four more assists.

FPL Gameweek 22 Captain Tip

With many set to overlook the early season favourite after selling him before Gameweek 20 and 201, we’re backing Jamie Vardy to return to the starting line up with a bang. He has a favourable fixture and played in the midweek draw against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup to get his eye back in. Expect him to register an attacking return against Southampton this weekend.
