Fantasy Football Advice and Tips for Gameweek 27 – Is it time for Pepe to come in?

Fantasy Football tips

After a very long Gameweek 26, normal service resumes with Gameweek 27 and a full fixture list including the Saturday lunchtime kick-off between Chelsea and Totteham.

Here’s our look at potential incomings and outgoing in the FPL world for this gameweek including a look at some new players on our radar including Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe, who picked up 17 points in GW26.

Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

Southampton could hardly ask for a better run of fixtures. The Saints play Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle and Norwich in their next four. Alex McCarthy (4.4m) has established himself as first-choice between the sticks and could be a great budget pick for those looking to capitalise on their kind run of games.

Another side with a pleasant upcoming fixture list is Newcastle. The Magpies face Crystal Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and West Ham in six of their next seven. Their only top half opponent before mid-April is Sheffield United. Jamaal Lascelles (4.3m) will be a useful bench option in that time, capable of filling in for blanks, injuries and suspensions.

Scott Dann (4.3m) has been somewhat of an FPL cult hero in years gone by. Sadly, he hasn’t been a starter for some time, but he may be afforded a rare inclusion in the starting XI when Palace face Newcastle this weekend. Anyone with a spare transfer could do a lot worse than to gamble on Dann’s attacking potential whilst Tomkins is a doubt.

Midfielders Tips – Who should replace Son?

A 17-point haul thrusts Nicolas Pépé (9.1m) into our considerations. It’s been a difficult first season for the Ivorian international as he looks to find his feet in the Premier League. Arsenal’s record signing has shown flashes of what he can do and will be high on confidence after scoring and assisting twice against Newcastle last time out. Arsenal’s fixtures are certainly enticing for anyone willing to take the plunge.

Jack Grealish (6.7m) added to his direct goal involvement with anther assist against Tottenham last time out. The Villa captain now has seven goals and seven assists in the league and faces Southampton next. A blank Gameweek 28 followed by a tough schedule may be enough to put off any would-be suiters.

Nathan Redmond (6.2m) was shaping up to be an interesting differential before being ruled out through injury. Unfortunately, he missed the Saints’ last game and will be out for several weeks. Anyone looking for a Southampton attacking differential may needs to take a closer look at set-piece expert James Ward-Prowse.

Heung-Min Son (10.0m) delivered against Aston Villa, bagging a brace and earning his FPL managers 13 points. Sadly, an injury sustained during the game has meant that the South Korean international has had to undergo surgery, ruling him out for the foreseeable. Kevin De Bruyne’s ownership is going to rise again after a goal and assist against West Ham in the rearranged fixture and he’s a must-have option in our Fantasy Football tips for most of this season.

Forwards Tips

Danny Ings (7.1m) returned to goalscoring ways with his 15th league goal of the season. All of his goals have come from open play, a good sign for anyone looking to capitalise on Southampton’s strong fixtures.

With Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son both injured, Tottenham are looking very short upfront. Lucas Moura is likely the next in line but Troy Parrot’s (4.3m) game time is certainly worth monitoring.
