Erling Haaland breaks even more Champions League records
Extending on their 100% Champions League record thanks to a 3-1 victory away at Swiss outfit Young Boys on Wednesday night, it was a certain Erling Haaland who once again stole most of Manchester City’s headlines.
Haaland continues to shatter Champions League records
Making the trip to Switzerland on Wednesday night still looking to open his Champions League account, Haaland certainly had the feel of a superstar that was looking to make a major European statement.
Eventually bagging a classy brace as the reigning European champions cruised their way to a 3-1 romp on foreign soil, the Norwegian poster boy also broke even more Champions League records in midweek.
Although it might be Lionel Messi that appears to be sat in pole position to get his hands on an eighth Ballon d’Or crown, Haaland has now registered 37 goals in just his first 33 Champions League appearances.
At 23 years 96 days, Haaland becomes the youngest player to score that amount of Champions League goals, breaking the record that was held by PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe who was 199 days older.
With their sights set on making more European history this season, it is no secret that the ex-Borussia Dortmund superstar must be firing on all cylinders.
