Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, with a 3-1 win over Palace, a 0-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, a huge 6-1 win over Brighton, and a 1-1 draw away at Wolves making up that record. The Villains lie fifth in the Premier League, just two points above their visitors this weekend, West Ham. Despite the small gap, I think Villa will overcome the Hammers fairly comfortably. David Moyes’ side have lost two, won one and drawn one in their last four. Villa have won each of their three home games this season, with an aggregate score of 13-2. I think that form will continue in this one.

 

Both teams to score

Although I think Villa will win, I do expect West Ham to put up a good fight, and I think they will get on the scoresheet. The Hammers have scored 15 goals in their eight Premier League fixtures so far this season, scoring at least once in each game. They have also conceded in seven of those eight. Villa have scored an impressive 19 league goals, scoring in all bar one of their first eight matches. They have conceded in six of the eight. I think both teams to score is a good bet in this one.

 

John McGinn to be booked

John McGinn is known for getting stuck in, and I think he will make a number of fouls in this one as he breaks down play and sets his team on the front foot. The Scotsman has picked up two yellow cards so far this Premier League season, including one last time out against Wolves. He was booked six times last season, averaging 1.25 fouls per game. I think there’s a good chance of him picking up his third card of the season in this one.
