Villa are having a fairly mixed campaign in the league and find themselves in ninth place. They’re just six points off the top four, however, and are 20/1 to be there at the end of the season. They’re also 4/1 to finish in the bottom half. Liverpool are seven points clear at the top of the league and many believe it’s all over and the Reds are champions. They’re a very short 1/4 to win the league.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool Predictions

We’re backing Liverpool to win again here. The Reds are huge favourites to go on and win the title with a seven-point advantage, and they have lost just one game in the league all season – a 0-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest back in September. They come into this one off the back of a 2-1 victory over Wolves, and I think they’ll come away with another three points against a Villa side who haven’t won in their last four matches in the Premier League. I do think both teams will score, however. Villa are a good side, as they have proved in the Champions League. They have scored in eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions, while Liverpool have scored a huge 60 league goals this season, and have scored in their last 21 league matches. I think this one will be lively from the off, with both teams attacking and leaving themselves exposed at the back. Both teams to score is a good bet here. Mo Salah is the man we’re backing for a goal here. The Egyptian is the top scorer in the league and added to his tally on Sunday with a goal in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Wolves. That takes his tally to 23 in the league this season, bagging 28 for the campaign overall. Liverpool will create plenty of chances here, and Salah will be right in amongst it as always. There’s a great chance of him adding to his goal tally in this one. We’ve gone for Villa captain John McGinn to be booked. The Scotsman has been carded four times in the league this season in his 21 appearances. He has made 27 fouls, so has an average of well over one per game. He will be in for a difficult afternoon against the likes of Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai in the Liverpool midfield, and I think he will make a few fouls here.
