Brentford vs Aston Villa Predictions
We’re going for Villa to get the win on the road. The Villains have had a decent season domestically, still in with a chance of top six, and are also still in the Champions League. They have won their last two – a victory over Cardiff City in the FA Cup and a win away to Club Brugge in the Champions League. Brentford are in decent form, but they haven’t won in their last five against Villa, their last victory against them coming in January 2022. I think Villa will come away with the points here.
Morgan Rogers has been in good form this season. He has bagged seven goals in his 27 league appearances, while also scoring three in nine in the Champions League. He averages just over 0.5 shots on target per game, with an average well over 1.5 shots per game with 44 in 27 in the league. Villa will create chances here, and Rogers is nailed on to have at least one shot.
We’ve gone for two players to be carded – Villa’s John McGinn and Vitaly Janelt of Brentford. McGinn has been booked five times in the Premier League this season, making 36 fouls in 24 appearances – an average of 1.5 fouls per game. I’m expecting a midfield battle, so McGinn is good odds for a foul. That’s the reason why I’m also going with Vitaly Janelt to pick up a card, boosting this bet to 45/1 with Bet 365. He has been carded three times in the league this season, making 21 fouls in his 26 appearances. Both players don’t shy away from a tackle, and I think they’re both good odds for a card in this one.
