3M Open Betting Tips and Predictions – 4 Each-way bets vs the field

3M Open betting tips

The 3M Open is next up on the PGA Tour and it is certainly the weakest field to date since the return. We still have a few of the big names turning up with Dustin Johnson heading the market at 10/1 and we also have the return of Tommy Fleetwood.

I think this is a tournament to chance some outsiders e/w and my selections can be found below.

As always with the gold tips, it is important to use the right bookies so you get the best place terms and once again William Hill are the bookies of choice here along with Paddy Power who are both playing 8 places for each-way bets.

3M Open Betting Tips

My first selection is CHRIS KIRK 66/1 (William Hill). Kirk has been through a lot in recent times and he returned to the winner’s circle on the Korn Ferry Tour last month in what was an emotional victory. That seemed to have give him the confidence he had in the early part of his career as he went to challenge on the PGA Tour the following week. In what is likely to be a birdie bonanza this week I expect Kirk to go close in a field that lacks depth. He can go low as he has proven it numerous times including his win last month. If he can hit it well off the tee I expect him to set up plenty of birdie opportunities and with the putter being his strength, I’m hopeful of a strong showing at a big price for us here.

My next selection is WILL GORDON 66/1 (Paddy Power). Will Gordon is a future star of the PGA Tour in my eyes and he proved just that at the RSM Classic this year where he finished third which earnt him a PGA Tour card for the remainder of the season. He must have been over the moon with that and looking back on it, it was no surprise he made a few poor mistakes the week after and didn’t play his best golf. After a little break he will be raring to get going and challenge for titles and I think this is a great opportunity for him to do just that. This fearless youngster is another who can make birdies in numbers which stands him well for this week.

My next selection is SAM BURNS 45/1 (William Hill). Burns has been playing great golf since we returned to action with his last three starts resulting in top 30 finishes. They were in tournaments that had a stronger field than this week so I’m hopeful he can take his season to the next step and challenge for victory here. The week off last week should have done him good as he will be well rested whilst a lot of the opposition will be mentally and physically drained by the challenge last week. A course that suits him well and it resulted in one of his better putting displays last year. Bold bid likely.

My final selection is SEPP STRAKA 66/1 (William Hill). Straka has been striking the ball very well over the last few weeks coming 14th, 8th and then 61st last week. Last week was really tough and he done well to make the cut. Back in a more straightforward course which will be set up a lot more like the 2 weeks prior to last week I expect him to go well. Straka has played all 6 events since we restarted so he certainly won’t be rusty. Straka likes to make a fast start so hopefully he can do that for us here and keep it going for all 4 rounds in what will be the weakest field he’s contested in since we resumed to action after the suspension.
