Tuesday’s Carabao Cup Tips

  • Norwich vs Bournemouth – Over 2.5 Goals
  • Birmingham vs Fulham – Fulham to win
  • Stoke vs Doncaster – Stoke to win
  • Blackpool vs Sunderland – Both teams to score
  • QPR vs Oxford United – QPR to win

Norwich vs Bournemouth

It’s been contrasting starts for these two teams so far but we could get an entertaining match at Carrow Road. Norwich have conceded eight in their two (very tough) matches vs Liverpool and Man City and Bournemouth have already won 5-0 against MK Dons in Round 1 as well as playing out a 2-2 draw on Saturday, and scoring two goals in each of their four Championship matches so far.

Over 2.5 goals (11/12 with SBK)

Birmingham vs Fulham

Fulham look a class above most of the teams in the Championship this season and if this were a league game, people would be backing Fulham for sure. Potential changes to the starting 11 could scupper us here but they should still be good enough to beat this Birmingham side. The Cottagers have won their last three matches, scoring nine goals and despite Birmingham putting four past Luton on Saturday, we’re still backing an away win in this one.

Fulham to win (11/10 with Betfred)

Stoke vs Doncaster

Stoke have started the season well, picking up three wins and a draw from their opening four matches of the season. That is in stark contrast to Doncaster, who have only managed a single point – that coming at the weekend against Portsmouth. They needed penalties to get past Walsall in the last round and have failed to score in their three away matches so far this season. Stoke are tipped to win this one.

Stoke to win (4/7 with Paddy Power)

Blackpool vs Sunderland

Blackpool have only got two points from their opening four league matches of the season, but they did beat Middlesbrough 3-0 in the opening round of Carabao Cup matches. Sunderland have scored in four of their five matches this season and also conceded in four of those five games, so both teams are expected to get on the scoresheet in this one, especially given that Sunderland are away from home but in better form.

Both teams to score (4/5 with bet365)

QPR vs Oxford United

QPR have made a good start to the season, especially in front of goal. They have scored 10 in their five matches so far including three in each of their two away games at Middlesbrough and Hull City. Oxford are a League One side and lost 2-1 at Bolton on Saturday, their first defeat of the season. Both of these sides needed penalties in the last round but WPR are tipped to get the job done in 90 minutes on Tuesday.

QPR to win (7/8 with SBK)
