Fantast Football Gameweek 16 Captains Tips and Picks

The FPL gameweeks are coming thick and fast and we continue with the festive fixture list. Plenty of solid options to choose from once again with no room for Tottenham or Man City assets this week.

Some of the big teams have tricky looking matches this weekend with the Manchester derby and Liverpool being away at Bournemouth. Leicester are also on the road at Aston Villa but Jamie Vardy still have to come into the captain reckoning given that he’s scored in each of his last seven matches. See our three GW16 captains picks below and the final selection.

 

Option 1 – Jamie Vardy (9.9m) vs Aston Villa

The goals won’t stop coming for Vardy. He’s scored in seven consecutive matches and will surely have his eye on breaking his Premier League scoring record. The in-form frontman is the current FPL top point scorer with 14 goals, 3 assists and 19 bonus points. Vardy’s penalty duties have been a big plus for his FPL owners with Leicester winning penalties on a regular basis in recent weeks.

 

Option 2 – Sadio Mané (12.2m) vs Bournemouth

Now firmly established and Liverpool’s main man in FPL, Mané has continued to deliver a consistent flow of points. He has blanked just twice since Gameweek 8 and returned a 15-point haul in his last match against Everton. Liverpool face a Bournemouth side who have lost each of their last four next. Mané hasn’t missed a minute of Premier League action since Gameweek 6 but with Firmino and Salah getting rests during the week, there’s a small chance of reduced minutes for the Senegalese international.

 

Option 3 – Tammy Abraham (7.9m) vs Everton

Chelsea’s no.9 returned to the starting XI after injury against Aston Villa on Wednesday. Abraham bagged a goal and an assist on his return to take him to 11 goals and 3 assists for the season. 7 of those goals have come away from home where Chelsea will play next as they travel to Goodison Park. Everton conceded five to Liverpool and have dropped into the bottom three.
