FPL Fantasy Football Gameweek 19 Tips and Advice (Boxing Day)

Fantasy Football tips

Gameweek 19 brings us the famous Boxing Day fixtures with rotation likely throughout the Premier League starting XIs. This will be tough for Fantasy Football managers to navigate but with nine matches on Boxing Day, we’re in for a bumper afternoon of Premier League football.

There were some shocks in the Premier League in Gameweek 18 including a red card for Heung-Min Son and blanks for some big FPL players. That left the likes of Danny Ings, Marcus Alonso, Willian and Dean Henderson in the FPl team of the week.

What will Gameweek 19 bring? See our FPL tips and advice for the upcoming gameweek below:

FPL Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

Carlo Ancelotti has taken charge at Goodison Park bringing early season favourite, Lucas Digne (5.7m), back into our thoughts. Everton appear to have turned a corner since Marco Silva left and a clean sheet against Arsenal promising for the Toffees backline. Digne is worth monitoring with set of favourable fixtures up next.

From one attacking full-back to another, Patrick van Aanholt (5.5m) is also worth mentioning. Crystal Palace have a kind schedule and the return of their Dutch fullback will bolster their clean sheet chances. PVA has a long history of attacking return and could be a smart investment.

Watford have performed well since Nigel Pearson took charge and a clean sheet against Manchester United could be a sign of things to come. The entire Watford defence is very affordable but Kiko Femenia (4.2m) is the cheapest and offer attacking threat. He’s worth keeping an eye on.

Liverpool defenders face a tough schedule having returned from Qatar. The Reds face Leicester, Wolves x2, Sheffield United, Tottenham and Manchester United in their next six. With just three clean sheets this season, their attacking returns may not be enough to justify holding onto their premium defensive assets over this period.

FPL Midfielders Tips

Tottenham have three kind fixtures coming up after Christmas. Spurs face Brighton, Norwich and Southampton in the next three. Lucas Moura (7.1m) has three goals in five league games under Mourinho and could be a solid pick in the absence of Son during that period.

Todd Cantwell (4.7m) has scored three goals in his last six games to take him to seven attacking returns for the season. He is an excellent choice to strengthen your bench during the busy schedule.

Heung-Min Son (10.1m) received a red card against Chelsea for violent conduct. There will be few willing to hold the premium asset over the next few gameweeks with his price likely to drop.

FPL Forwards Tips

Moise Kean (6.4m) is certainly one to monitor with his compatriot now in charge of Everton. He’s struggled for game time this season but there’s every chance Ancelotti gets the best out of him in the coming weeks.

Gabriel Jesus’ (9.6m) run in the City side is likely to come to an end with Sergio Aguero back in training. Despite his solid form, Jesus is too big a risk at this stage of the season.
