Fantasy Football Tips and Advice for FPL Gameweek 18

Fantasy Football tips

It’s the last gameweek before Christmas and the fixtures are coming thick and fast. Here’s our latest rundown to keep you on top of everything ahead of Gameweek 18.

With Liverpool not in action, FPL managers have to decide whether to bench the likes of Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Mane and Salah. Mane is by far the most transferred out player ahead of this gameweek with many replacing him with Kevin De Bruyne.

See the advised ins and outs ahead of Gameweek 18 below.

FPL Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

We kick things off with Martin Kelly (4.4m). The Crystal Palace defender’s ownership has risen to over 30% after a run of four starts for the Eagles. Kelly’s place looks assured over the coming gameweeks with The Eagles suffering from injuries. Only Leicester have kept more clean sheets this season.

Despite their defensive issues, Manchester City have managed to keep the joint second most clean sheets so far. Nicolas Otamendi (5.0m) provides a strong goal threat a cut-price 5m with a clear run of starts until John Stones returns from injury next year.

Back from injury, Antonio Rudiger (6.0m) slotted straight into the Chelsea XI. Sadly, this is The Blues’ worst run of the season, meaning the German’s lofty price represents poor value at this stage.

FPL Midfielders Tips

Everton have taken points against two of the ‘big 6’ in their last two games. Richarlison (7.8m) has four goals in six and has blanked just three times since Gameweek 8. The imminent appointment of Carlo Ancelotti could boost his prospects further as Everton face struggling Arsenal at Goodison Park. Richarlsion has just had a price rise but Everton are coming to the end of their tough December run.

Jack Grealish (6.1m) has been flying under the radar for many FPL managers. The Villa captain has two goals and an assist in his last five and faces each of the bottom three in his next three.

Wilfried Zaha (6.8m) took until Gameweek 13 to score his first goal of the season but he is now bang in form. It’s now three goals in five games with the Ivorian scoring three of Palace’s last four. The Eagles don’t play another top half team for the remainder of 2019.

Mesut Ozil (7.2m) has started seven in a row for The Gunners, picking up two assists in that time. There was a time when a 7.2m Ozil would have been a bargain but that is far from the case now. Be wary of Arsenal assets for the time being.

FPL Forwards Tips

Diogo Jota (6.1m) had a tough start to the season but has bagged a brace in Gameweek 16 and a hat-trick in the Europa League. Norwich away is the perfect fixture to continue his strong goalscoring form.

The Pukki party ended abruptly earlier this season but it’s well and truly underway once more. Teemu Pukki (6.6m) has blanked just once in his last five with three goals in his last four. Wolves and Villa are up next.

One goal all season and facing stiff competition from fan favourite, Andy Carroll, for a starting place. Avoid Joelinton (5.6m).
