Fantasy Football Tips, Advice and Do’s and Dont’s for Gameweek 12

Fantasy Football tips

There is a Friday night start this week in Premier League Fantasy Football, so be sure not to miss the deadline. Fabio has taken a look at the Gameweek 12 fixtures and picked out some FPL advice and tips to share with you.

John Lundstram stole the show last week with a brace and a clean sheet helping him to a 21-point-haul. This week’s selections highlight some cut-price options who could deliver big points.

FPL Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

Bournemouth have been in a rich vein of defensive form of late. The Cherries have kept three consecutive clean sheets and conceded just once in the last four. Diego Rico (4.3m) is a cheap route into the Bournemouth defence and has already registered two assists this season. The Spaniard is a smart acquisition ahead of a trip to goal-shy Newcastle.

Another side who have tightened up defensively in recent weeks is Watford. The Hornets have kept two clean sheets in their last four games, conceding just three times. They now face a Norwich side who have scored just two goals in their last six games. Daryl Janmaat (4.3m) is the cheapest route into the Watford backline and registered an assist as recently as gameweek 9.

Arsenal visit high-flying Leicester this weekend. The Foxes have scored an incredible 19 goals in their last five games. Meanwhile, Arsenal have just one clean sheet since the gameweek 1. David Luiz (5.8m) may have two goals in four games but he’s not worth the outlay given Arsenal’s defensive vulnerabilities.

FPL Midfielders Tips

Speaking of Leicester’s attacking form, James Maddison (7.4m) is worth consideration ahead of their trip to North London. Maddison has three goals and an assist from his last five starts and has returned attacking points in four of those five games. Given Arsenal’s defensive record from set-pieces, Maddison is worth investment.

It’s always risky advising against someone like Mo Salah (12.3m) but now may be the time to move on for owners. The Egyptian hasn’t scored from open play since gameweek 5. His only attacking contribution in his last four starts came courtesy of a penalty and he now faces Manchester City.

Christian Eriksen (8.7m) has flattered to deceive this season. Tottenham are in rotten form and the Dane has only scored once and assisted once in the league. Sheffield United have the joint best defensive record in the league and are up next.

FPL Forwards Tips

After their 9-0 demolition, Southampton looked to have recovered when they took the lead against Manchester City. It wasn’t to be for the Saints, but they showed promising signs. Danny Ings (6.0m) is an affordable option against a severely out of form Everton side.

Ashley Barnes (6.3m) hasn’t scored since gameweek 3. He has completed the 90 minutes just three times this season, the latest of which came in a 3-0 loss to Sheffield United. Best avoided.
