Reasons for Saturday’s Accumulator Predictions

Two matches from the Premier League feature in this Saturday accumulator prediction with Wolves aiming to secure a top-six position when hosting Newcastle, while Everton will seek further improvement under Carlo Ancelotti as they welcome Brighton. In other previewed matches, AFC Wimbledon face a difficult afternoon in League One action at Portsmouth, while Exeter and Scunthorpe play on home soil against teams currently struggling on the road.

Everton vs Brighton Betting Tip – Everton win

Despite losing at Liverpool and Manchester City in their last two competitive matches, Everton have been showing signs of a revival, firstly under the interim management of Duncan Ferguson and then new boss Carlo Ancelotti. The Toffees were unbeaten in their last five matches of 2019 which included three Premier League victories and they now host a Brighton team which has lost six league games on the road this season against mainly difficult opposition. Yet the Seagulls have won just twice in eleven previous competitive outings and they could be facing another loss at Goodison.

Wolves vs Newcastle Betting Tip – Wolves win

When winning their opening two matches of December, it appeared that Newcastle were set to climb the Premier League table after an indifferent start to the campaign. However, just one victory has subsequently been registered amid a series of injuries particularly in defence, and they now visit a Wolverhampton team that has lost just twice at Molineux this term. Although Wolves can be an unpredictable team on occasions, they have earned five league wins since mid-November and are set to collect another three points.

Portsmouth vs AFC Wimbledon Betting Tip – Portsmouth win

Although they have claimed just one point from three previous League One matches on the road, Portsmouth have yet to lose a league game at Fratton Park this term and beat Ipswich and Wycombe in their latest two league fixtures at the venue. Pompey now host a Wimbledon outfit which tends to be involved in low-scoring games but which also failed to beat struggling Southend in their last league match. The Dons did beat out-of-form Bristol Rovers in their last away fixture but had previously avoided defeat in just two away contests in league action this season. A home win is predicted.

Exeter vs Cambridge Betting Tip – Exeter win

Unbeaten in League Two action since suffering a 2-0 defeat by Bradford at the beginning of December, Exeter will now be seeking a fifth victory in seven league matches when hosting Cambridge. The Grecians have lost just one league game at St James Park this season while the visitors have failed to win a league fixture on the road from late September onwards. Two successive defeats by Mansfield and Macclesfield this year suggests that Cambridge are not one of the in-form teams and they are facing another loss.

Scunthorpe vs Newport Betting Tip – Scunthorpe win

After struggling for points during the early stages of the League Two campaign, Scunthorpe have improved in recent months with five league victories earned since mid-November. Although the Iron have been more inconsistent lately, they now face a Newport team which last won a league game when winning the return fixture back in October. Despite scoring three times in a midweek EFL Trophy victory, County have failed to net more than once in any league match from late October onwards with just one point secured from their last four outings on the road. Scunthorpe are tipped to win this game.
