Premier League FPL Advice, Tips and Predictions for Gameweek 26

Fantasy Football tips

The Premier League winter break is upon us which means an extra-long Gameweek 26 spanning two weekends. Here’s our look at who to pick and who to avoid for your GW26 starting 11.

Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

Everton are about to embark on a tough run of fixtures but a home tie with Crystal Palace could be profitable for anyone holding a Toffees’ defender. Lucas Digne (5.8m) offers the highest ceiling from the available options with two assists in his last four taking him to five for the season.

A team with far better fixtures on the horizon is Sheffield United. The Blades have amassed nine clean sheets over the course of the campaign and have been an excellent source of points in the budget bracket. John Egan (4.5m) is the cheapest route into Sheffield United’s defence.

Cult hero John Lundstram (5.1m) may have the fixtures but sadly he appears to be out of favour. The out of position pick has not started either of Sheffield United’s last two games and has failed to complete the 90 in any of their last four. With a black game week on the horizon, now may be the time to move on.

Midfielders Tips

Heung-Min Son (10.0m) has scored in back-to-back games to take his tally to 16 goal involvements for the season. Since Mourinho took charge, the South Korean has scored four and assisted four in ten league games. With Aston Villa up next that could be set to increase.

Another Tottenham player worth keeping an eye on is new signing Steven Bergwijn (7.5m). The Dutch international scored against Manchester City on his debut and has been handed a reasonable starting price. He enjoyed an excellent half-season with PSV and could prove profitable for anyone willing to take an early gamble.

Jordan Henderson (5.4m) will be way down the list of Liverpool FPL assets worth owning for many. However, the Reds’ captain has scored and assisted in two of his last three games, taking his tally to 29 points in two gameweeks. Owned by just 2.2%, he could be an interesting differential ahead of Liverpool’s good run of fixtures.

Allan Saint-Maximan (5.4m) scored the winner in Newcastle’s FA Cup replay. He has one goal and one assist in his last four league games and an ownership of just 0.3%. He’s good fun but can he become an FPL differential?

It’s just one goal and no assists in the last nine league games for James Maddison (7.7m). Fixtures with Wolves followed by Man City may be enough to convince owners to sell.

Raheem Sterling (11.7m) started the season in imperious form but both he and Manchester City have gone off the boil. Add to that an injury worry ahead of a tough run of games and Sterling is best avoided for the time being.

Forwards Tips

Raul Jimenez (7.7m) may not have scored last time out but a run of good fixtures means the Mexican is well worth keeping. Leicester may appear tough on paper but the Foxes have lost some defensive steel and Jimenez could profit.

Danny Ings (7.0m) hasn’t scored in three games and has only played the full 90 in one of those. However, a very kind run of fixtures should be enough for owners to hold on, could he force his way into the England Euro 2020 squad?.
