Golf Betting Tips: BMW Championship Win and Each-Way Bets

BMW Championship tips

We head to Wentworth this week for the signature event on the European Tour, the BWM Championship.

Patrick Reed flies over from America and he’s bound to go well. He is joined by the likes of Tyrrell Hatton and Justin Rose in what is a great line-up this week.

Tommy Fleetwood @ 11/1 (bet365)

My first selection is TOMMY FLEETWOOD 11/1 WIN. Fleetwood is striking the ball as well as ever recently and is just being let down by the putter down the stretch. He finished third in Portugal and second in Scotland last week on his last two European Tour starts despite struggling with the putter. This shows how well his tee-to green game currently is and he returns to a course he knows very well here and I’m hopeful he can make one or two crucial putts that might just get him back in the winner’s circle. The course suits him well and he has a solid record in the event. The weather forecast isn’t great for the week which I believe will suit him too as the emphasis on having to make birdies won’t be as strong. He showed this with a stunning third round in the battling conditions last week. Bound to get a run for your money this week.

Erik Van Rooyen @ 25/1 (bet365)

My next selection is ERIK VAN ROOYEN 25/1 EW (BET365 1/4 1,2,3,4,5,6). Van Rooyen has been progressing well throughout his career and seems to get better and better every season. Van Rooyen won the Nordea Masters in 2019 and has had some strong showings in tournaments in America which always reads strong back on European soil. I believe he is ready to progress again and win a big event like this one. The course will suit his ball striking skills well and he closed with a fine 66 in Scotland which shows his game is in a great place at the moment.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout @ 40/1 (Paddy Power)

My next selection is CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT 40/1 EW (PADDY POWER 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). I believe he has a similar profile to Van Rooyen as he is another South African who has been progressing well in his career. He won on the tricky Valderamma last year beating home favourite Sergio Garcia down the stretch which appeared to be the making of him. He has been playing well in America too and now returns to Europe bidding to finish the season strong. He struck the ball great last week but was let down by his putter. He is normally a strong putter so I’m hopeful that was a one-off week. He came third here on his debut last year which shows he loves the place and he appears a great e/w bet here.

Victor Perez @ 55/1 (Paddy Power)

My next selection is VICTOR PEREZ 55/1 EW (PADDY POWER 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Perez has been playing solid golf himself since his first career victory in the Alfred Dunhill Links last year at St Andrews. He should be well suited by the test Wentworth offers and I feel his tied 14th finish last week was a step in the right direction heading into this week. He finished last season strong and I can see him doing just that again 2020. He is another who has serious talent and is ready to step up and win a big event like this one. Great e/w price.

Eddie Pepperell @ 80/1 (Betfred)

My final selection is EDDIE PEPPERELL 80/1 EW (BETFRED 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7). Pepperell should be a shorter price this week in my opinion. He has strong course form and he tends to play his best golf in short bursts. I was encouraged by his performance last week as he hardly made any mistakes and his putting got better as the week went on. That’s a potent combination for me here as he seems to bubbling over nicely heading into this signature event on the European Tour. He knows how to win as he proved when winning the British Masters wire to wire and he won’t be phased by the unsettling weather conditions as he proved when winning said British Masters. Best e/w bet of the week for me.
