Brentford v Middlesbrough Betting Tip – Brentford win

Brentford will be looking to maintain their promotion push against inconsistent Middlesbrough at the weekend. The Bees destroyed Hull 5-1 last time out and they should be confident of another three points against a Middlesbrough side who have gone four games without a win. Brentford are one of the strongest home sides in the Championship, having won six of their last seven, while Middlesbrough have won just twice on the road this season. This game pits one of the highest-scoring teams in the league in Brentford against one of the lowest away scoring sides in Middlesbrough and all that points to a win for promotion-chasing Brentford. Boro have a terrible away record against teams currently in the top six after losing all those encounters this season and I would expect that to continue at Griffin Park.

Huddersfield v QPR Betting Tip – Huddersfield win

Huddersfield were unlucky to lose to promotion hopefuls Fulham last time out and they will be keen to put that right against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. Relegation-threatened Huddersfield have won just one of their last five games and they really need to start picking up points if they are to avoid the drop. Huddersfield have the worst home record in the Championship, but there have been signs of improvement in recent games and a match against misfiring QPR offers them the perfect opportunity to enjoy some home comforts at last. QPR have dropped down the table after a bright start to the season and they have lost their last four matches away from Loftus Road. Huddersfield need the win more than QPR right now and that motivation should help Danny Cowley’s men get back to winning ways here.

Reading v Hull Betting Tip – Reading win

Reading return to league action after their midweek FA Cup heroics and they should go into their game against out-of-sorts Hull City full of confidence. Reading boss Mark Bowen is expected to ring the changes from the side that won against Cardiff in the FA Cup so freshness should not be an issue for the Royals. Reading can leapfrog Hull in the table with a win and Bowen has done a good job at the Madejski Stadium since taking over leading them away from the relegation zone. Hull have endured a difficult past week after losing two of their best players in Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki just before the transfer deadline and then being thumped 5-1 at home to Brentford. The Tigers have lost their last five games in all competitions and without their two star attackers scoring goals could be a major problem for them between now and the end of the season. Reading are on an upward curve under Bowen and they can pile the misery on Hull this weekend.

Stoke v Charlton Betting Tip – Stoke win

This is a real relegation six-pointer in the Championship as 21st in the table meets 19th with just two points separating the two sides. Michael O’Neill has done an impressive job so far at Stoke, but they still find themselves in a real battle. The Potters lost 4-0 to Derby last time out and O’Neill will be expecting a response from his side against relegation rivals Charlton. Stoke have won three of their last five league games and appear to be heading in the right direction under O’Neill and a win over Charlton will see them overtake the Addicks in the table. Charlton have struggled for form away from the Valley in recent weeks and have gone 11 games on their travels without a win, including eight defeats in those games. The Addicks did not significantly bolster their squad before the close of the transfer window and I think that could leave Lee Bowyer’s men stretched in the fight for survival.

Peterborough v Oxford United Betting Tip – Peterborough win

Peterborough are the form team in League One right now as they prepare to take on promotion rivals Oxford United. Darren Ferguson’s men have won their last four games, taking some notable scalps in the shape of promotion hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers, Rotherham United and Ipswich Town. The Posh have scored 12 goals and conceded just two goals in their last four games and now sit just one point outside the automatic promotion spots. Oxford are outside the play-off places right now and fatigue could be an issue for Karl Robinson’s men here after taking Newcastle to extra-time in their midweek FA Cup replay before losing so late on. Oxford have beaten Peterborough twice already this season, but on current form, Peterborough will fancy their chances of getting the better of the Us on home soil.
