Last year’s champions Manchester City will be desperate for another successful season and another Premier League trophy, but the job will be far from easy. To achieve their goals they need to overcome the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and United among the others, all of which will be confident they can challenge City much better than last season.

City are the clear favourites, they walked the league last campaign, and with the likes of Sterling, Foden, Silva and Dias, as well as the new signing Jack Grealish and upcoming transfers that they will undoubtedly do, it is easy to see why they have this status.

Liverpool had a campaign to forget, as they narrowly managed to finish in the top four, while overcoming series of unfortunate injuries among their star players, such as van Dijk, Gomez, Matip, Jota, and so on. However, Jurgen Klopp’s team are still considered to be the closest contender to Manchester City and many expect these two teams to continue the trophy race they had in the previous years.

Chelsea has started last season badly, but ever since Thomas Tuchel was appointed, they looked a completely different animal, winning the Champions League in the process. He managed to get the best out of the young stars in the team like Werner, Mount, and Havertz, all of whom have stepped up when it was most needed. Bigger things will be expected of Tuchel this season, so Chelsea will be looking to end City’s and Liverpool’s dominance and the signing of Romelu Lukaku will only enhance this.

Manchester United looked shaky in the last few years, and they have been struggling to be anywhere near the top ever since the great Sir Alex Ferguson left back in 2013. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally seems to be getting the puzzle together, and this season may be the make or break for him, as they cannot have the excuse of being a developing team anymore.

With all this being said, MANCHESTER CITY look like the team to beat this season in the Oddspedia odds grid. Pep Guardiola is a trophy-winning machine and he will be looking to extend his impressive portfolio with another league championship. Liverpool looks like their closest rivals, but with City getting better each year it is hard to imagine how they can keep up with them in the near future. Not as comfortable as last season, but we fully expect Manchester City to be the Premier League champions once again come May.

Premier League Top 6 Prediction

  1. Manchester City
  2. Liverpool
  3. Manchester United
  4. Chelsea
  5. Leicester
  6. Arsenal

Teams in the Premier League are getting stronger with each year, and that makes the race for the top places very entertaining. It is no wonder why the best players in the world are now eager to try themselves in England, as they are sure to be playing against top opposition every week.

We mentioned that the race for the title will go down to the wire, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United the most likely teams to challenge City for the summit at the end of the season. However, do not think for a second that they will have it easy.

Leicester narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot by a single point, and Brendan Rodgers’ team will be looking to overcome that gap in the following season. They play exciting football, and with the quality signings they made in the summer like Patson Daka, Ryan Bertrand and Boubakary Soumare, they will be confident of getting a European Place.

Tottenham and ARSENAL seemed to be going backwards in previous years, and they will surely have better campaigns than the last one. Both teams have so far been quiet in the transfer window, but there will probably be some activity before the end of it, as they know that the only way to close the gap on the top teams is to inject significant quality in their squad. Tottenham might be in bigger trouble as they look set to lose their captain Harry Kane, amid interest from Manchester City.

It wouldn’t be a Premier League season if there are no dark horses mixing things up at the top, and for this season we tip Aston Villa to cause some damage to the top. Although they lost Jack Grealish to Manchester City, they have had an impressive transfer window, adding the likes of Leon Bailey, Emi Buendia and Danny Ings to their ranks.

With all that being said, we predict the top of the Premier League table to be as follows: Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal, and Aston Villa. Spurs look set for another disappointing season, and they will have much to do the next summer.

Relegation Prediction

  • Southampton – 10/3
  • Wolves – 5/1

As is the case every season, the newly promoted teams are odds-on to return to the Championship the following season. Norwich, Watford and Brentford have done little in the summer to convince us that they will be safe from the drop.

They didn’t add the much-needed quality to compete in the Premier League, and even though there is still time before the transfer window closes, they need to make some business ASAP. Norwich struggled last time around in the Premier League, even though they had a promising start thanks to Teemu Pukki, but even he faded as the season dragged on. They lost Emi Buendia, and interest for Todd Cantwell heats up, so they might be in some serious trouble if they lose both of their star players.

Brentford’s rise has been extraordinary in recent years, and they fully deserve to be in the Premier League. Much of their survival hopes will depend on Ivan Toney, their star striker who blossomed in the Championship. As for Watford, they have some exciting young players in the squad, like Ismaila Sarr, and they have added Danny Rose, Joshua King and Ashley Fletcher to their ranks.

Just like with the race at the top, there will be a team that no one expects in the race against relegation too. Our money goes to CRYSTAL PALACE, as they have an ageing squad that seems to be going on the wrong trajectory. Their new manager Patrick Vieira is also inexperienced, so they might be in for a long season. With that being said, we expect Watford, Norwich and Crystal Palace to be in the Championship next season.

Top Scorer Prediction

  • Harry Kane – 10/3
  • Mo Salah – 7/2
  • Timo Werner – 14/1
  • Gabriel Jesus – 16/1
  • Raheem Sterling – 20/1
  • Sadio Mane – 20/1
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 25/1
  • Patrick Bamford – 25/1
  • Jamie Vardy – 25/1
  • Diogo Jota – 33/1

Thankfully for all the fans, the Premier League is blessed to have some of the world’s best attackers playing week in week out. It is difficult to place a prediction on who might win the Golden Boot, but a few seem to stand out every season.

Harry Kane is sure to be up there in the race, especially if he ends up at Manchester City, getting assists from the likes of De Bruyne and Grealish. Another name that is always on top of the scoring charts is Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian’s form will be key to Liverpool’s hope of dethroning Manchester City. Last season we saw some surprising additions to the race for the Golden Boot, with Patrick Bamford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin having impressive seasons for their clubs.

New Aston Villa forward DANNY INGS is the name we would put as a dark horse to pip the likes of Kane and Salah to the Golden Boot, as he has proven in recent years that when he is injury-free he can be considered among the best forwards in the league. It is difficult to predict the outcome for the top goalscorer, but HARRY KANE seems to be scoring more goals every season, so we back him to retain the prize, even more so if he ends up joining Manchester City.
