It’s just a few weeks since the European Championships ended but we already have the Premier League’s new season on our doorstep and today, we’re looking at the Paddy Power trading teams best bets.

These are the guys in the know behind the scenes at Paddy Power so you would think they should have a good eye for some betting tips on the outright markets this season.

Manchester City are strong favourites to win the Premier League and retain their title, but Chelsea and Manchester United have also strengthened well and Liverpool are sure to be up there once again. Harry Kane is favourite to be top goalscorer but we don’t even know what team he will be playing for as of yet, and Leeds fans are convinced they’ll finish in the top 4.

Paddy Power asked traders Rob Jones, Emmet O’Keeffe, Jonathan Smith and William Fenwick to put their knowledge to good use and give us all some much needed Premier League betting tips ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Paddy Power Traders Tips 2021/22

Paddy Power traders tips Premier League

Premier League Winner

Three of the four pundits went for Chelsea in this one, perhaps surprisingly. However, with the imminent arrival of Romelu Lukaku, they have shortened up in the Premier League betting odds to 9/2 with Paddy Power. City are not much of a value bet at odds of 4/6 so Chelsea are getting a lot of support after an impressive end to last season.

There are no tips for Liverpool or Manchester United.

Top 4 finish

Two of the pundits agree on their top four teams for the 2021/22 season, going for Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Liverpool are left out of one of the predictions, with Leicester replacing them to make up a 14/1 bet of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Leicester all to finish in the Champions League places.

The final trader has gone for an even bigger outsider here, and is tipping Leeds United to get into the top four, at the expense of Manchester United.

Top goalscorer

Two shouts for Harry Kane kick things off here, but we still don’t know which club he will be playing for this season. He is the worthy favourite and if he stays clear of injuries and does get his move to Manchester City then he could well have the best return of his career.

The other two traders both agree on a longer odds selection in Patrick Bamford. The Leeds striker started all but one of their matches last season and tied fourth on 17 goals last season. He is 25/1 this time around and looks a good each-way bet.

Who will be relegated?

Perhaps surprisingly, all four traders have picked Crystal Palace as one of the teams to be relegated from the Premier League this season. Patrick Vieria is the main reason for that but they have strengthened well and kept hold of Wilfried Zaha, although losing Eze to injury is a big blow.

There are three shouts for Watford and just two for Norwich of the promoted teams. Nobody thinks Brentford will drop straight back down.

Newcastle get tipped by one of the traders, as do Southampton, who have just lost Danny Ings to Aston Villa. Adam Armstrong is his replacement and he will need to be in amongst the goals.

Burnley are the final teams to get a mention and without any obvious strengthening, this could be the season Sean Dyche finally runs out of lives in the top flight.
