Queen Anne Stakes 2023 Tips and betting Odds at Royal Ascot

The Queen Anne Stakes kicks off the 2023 Royal Ascot meeting on Tuesday 20th June and we have been through the main contenders and picked out a Queen Anne betting tip to get us off to a winning start. I’m not sure we’re going to see a Baaeed as we did last year but a cracking race nonetheless. Favourites tend to have a good record in this race winning 7 of the last 11 renewals, including the last 3. Inspiral

Let’s start with Dettori, unbeaten at 2, Inspiral reappeared on this card last year in the Coronation stakes and bolted up. However she disappointed when last seen here on Champions Day finishing 4 lengths behind Modern Games. She receives weight from the field, will be suited by conditions and given Dettori & Gosden’s Form I expect her to go off favourite.

Modern Games

Modern Games has been the definition of consistent, having not finished out of the first 2 in his last 6 runs all of which have been Group 1’s. Appleby’s form of late has been well below par, but at the time of writing, they do seem to be turning a corner. A clear-cut winner of the Lockinge last month, he faces much of the same opposition and I see no reason any of them can turn the tables.

Native Trail

You could argue that Native Trail has been somewhat disappointing since his 2nd in the Guineas, he promised so much but has fallen short at the top table. Well beaten by Mutasaabeq on seasonal reappearance he clearly must improve but the vibes are good and he is definitely not to be underestimated.

Chindit

I must admit I have a soft spot for Chindit, he’s a pure miler and more often than not runs his race, for a split second in the Lockinge, I thought he was coming with a winning run but Modern Games had too much for him on that occasion and probably will again. But I certainly wouldn’t write him off as a good each-way chance.

Mustaabeq

Mutasaabeq ran 6 times last season and he went off 5/2 or shorter every time, but ended up getting beat on 4 occasions. He took advantage of an easy lead when beating Native Trail but was put firmly in his place by Modern Games and even Chindit for that matter. It would take a career best for him to win his first Group 1.

Queen Anne Stakes Tip 2023

As mentioned earlier, I expect Inspiral to go off favourite, making Modern Games a good bet. He gets the quick conditions he desires and I anticipate he will get the strong pace needed so that he can be held up and win with his customary late charge.
