RBC Heritage Golf Preview, Betting Tips and Each-way Selections

This week we head to Harbour Town Golf Links for this week’s golf on the PGA Tour and it is another stellar field.

McIlroy, Rahm, Thomas, and DeChambeau are all in attendance and we’ve picked out five betting tips against the field.

 

RBC Heritage Win Betting Tip

My first selection is the latter and that is BRYSON DECHAMBEAU 16/1 WIN (William Hill).

Bryson could have easily won last week but had a poor finish which resulted in him missing the playoff by a single shot. He has put on so much weight over the last few months and he is arguable became the longest hitter on Tour overnight. I’m impressed with how accurate he has been to go with the distance and it’s a potent combination. Bryson has solid course form with two top 5 finishes in 4 starts here. He is obviously in good recent form and he’ll be itching to get another win to silence the doubters here. 16/1 is a great win bet.

 

RBC Heritage Each-way Betting Tips

Now we have one near the top of the market I like a few outsiders to go well.

The first of those is KEVIN KISNER 50/1 EW 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (William Hill).

Kisner played solid golf last week breaking 70 on all 4 rounds and I feel any ring rust will have been left behind there. This course is a perfect fit for him and he appears destined to win here at some point. He got beat in a playoff here in 2015 and has had some good finishes here since that with a couple of top 15 finishes. I’m expecting a strong performance from Kisner here and 50/1 is a cracking e/w bet.

My next selection is JASON KOKRAK 66/1 EW 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (William Hill).

Kokrak is so talented but has always been let down by his putting. He is a quality ball striker which is ideal for this test. The stat that encourages me to go with him here is the improved putting last week. Kokrak finished in the top 6 in the putting stats last week and only missed out on the playoff by one shot. If he can continue with the red-hot putter this week you’d have to expect him to go close again here. I was expecting him to be shorter than 66/1 so he has to be a selection.

A couple at slightly bigger prices that are also worth an e/w punt.

I like COREY CONNERS 100/1 EW 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (William Hill).

Conners has had a strong start to his PGA Tour career picking up his maiden victory last season amongst several other strong results. He struck the ball lovely last week and had a chance going into Sunday but couldn’t get anything going there. I think he was just a little rusty as he made a few silly mistakes that eventually cost him a top 10 finish. With that first tournament behind him, I’m hopeful the rust will be knocked off and this tee-to-green machine is a good bet at a three figured price.

My final selection is one from last week and it is HARRIS ENGLISH 90/1 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (William Hill).

English has always been hit and miss and I am happy to forgive last week’s M/C as he just couldn’t get anything going. He did shoot 64 at Sawgrass the week golf was suspended and came 2^nd in a small tournament a couple of weeks ago. The course should suit him here and a big week for Harris is definitely just around the corner. I think it may well be this week and he deserves another chance here at 90/1.
