Return of the Special One

Mourinho has faced his fair share of criticism for his preference for “negative” tactics in recent years. The criticism isn’t without merit, but it is arguably a necessary first step for a Tottenham side in crisis. Spurs have had a poor defensive record so far but Mourinho is the man to stop the rot.

Hammers Down Tools

West Ham are in freefall right now. The Hammers have failed to score in two of their last four fixtures and haven’t won in seven. Sebastian Haller has scored just once in the last eight league games whilst Felipe Anderson is yet to score and hasn’t assisted since early October. West Ham are severely lacking in attack and the recent injury to Manuel Lanzini only limits their offensive options.

Attacking Options

Harry Kane returns to Premier League actions after impressing on international duty. Despite Tottenham’s struggles, Kane has netted six times in the league and is a reliable source of goals. Meanwhile, Heung-Min Son has been directly involved in three goals in three games.

There is cause optimism as a change in management may spark life into the previously talismanic Christian Eriksen and boost Dele Alli’s goal involvement.
