Will Leeds Survive Relegation in the Premier League this Season?
As we all know, Leeds United barely survived relegation last season in the Premier League, following a very close battle with Burnley up until the last fixture. Last season wasn’t a great one for The Whites, as they struggled to maintain good form the whole campaign.
It is all change on the pitch ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season and with both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha departing the club, the new signings have to settle in quickly otherwise it could be another long, hard season for Leeds.
Will Leeds’ New Signings Keep them Safe?
Last season, Leeds had to deal with many injuries throughout the whole season, which was a very hard job to do for both managers, Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch. A serious hit was the many injuries from Robin Koch, Kalvin Phillips, and Patrick Bamford.
So far, Leeds United are very active in the summer transfer windows, having spent almost £100 million on six new players. The new players that decided to join The Whites this season are Brendan Aaronson, Luis Sinisterra, Tyler Adams, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, and Darko Gyabi.
Aaronson, Kristensen, and Adams are well-known players for Jesse Marsch as he knows them from his previous clubs RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg. This means that the manager has acquired players that are familiar with his style of play and can, without doubt, implement his ideas.
But, apart from the singings, Leeds United has suffered a significant loss in its team following the departure of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City. This will be a serious blow for The Whites, as Phillips was a key player in the team that was dictating the tempo of the game.
Another key player that is set to leave the club is the amazing Brazilian Raphinha, as he is set to join Barcelona in the coming days. This will be another major hit for The Whites as he has been extraordinary in the last 2 years in the club.
Barcelona have finally submitted the official bid for Raphinha, Leeds are set to accept! €58m fixed fee, up to €68m with add-ons. Deal at final stages. 🚨🇧🇷 #FCB

Are the Fixtures in Favour of Leeds?
Leeds United were very lucky when it comes to the Premier League fixtures, especially the first 10 matches of the new season. After that, it gets a little tougher as they will have to play two consecutive matches against Arsenal and Leicester, as well as two consecutive matches against Tottenham and Manchester City.
As for the second part of the season, Leeds have been blessed with an even better fixture list. This can have a major impact on the shaping of the season, only if The Whites can manage to materialise their chances and maintain a good form throughout the whole season.
Will Leeds get Relegated this Season?
The aim for Leeds United for this season will be not to be in another relegation battle come next May. Although many Leeds fans are wishing that their team repeats it’s fantastic performance from the 2019/20 season, that seems like an impossible mission at the moment, especially with the loss of Phillips and Raphinha.
This is mainly because of the changes made in the staff, especially the manager, and the loss of their key players. Leeds United needs some time to stabilize the team before they can go on chase some of the higher positions on the Premier League table but they should be able to avoid relegation once again, as long as the new signings are quick to settle into their new club.
