The World Cup 2022 qualifying matches continue this weekend and we have previewed 10 of the biggest matches, predicting the score from each game.

Italy are in action against Switzerland following their Euro 2020 win and losing finalists England play Andorra at Wembley, fresh from their 4-0 win in Hungary.

On Saturday, Netherlands play Montenegro and France play Ukraine following their disappointing draw against Bosnia Herzegovina in midweek.

World Cup 2020 Qualifying Tips: 4th & 5th September

Netherlands vs Montenegro

The Netherlands is one of the teams that have a point to prove after their poor Euros campaign. They have a new manager on board, and players will surely be motivated to prove the doubters wrong. They will be boosted by the return of talisman Virgil van Dijk, whose absence was missed during the Euro campaign in the summer.

Montenegro goes into this game with a mixed form, having won 2, lost 2, and drawn 1 in their last five games. These are teams that have never played against each other previously, so there isn’t much history to be discussed here. Montenegro has a good team, but the Dutch will be too strong for them, especially at home.

Switzerland vs Italy

Both teams will be hopeful of claiming the points in this one. Switzerland is on a good run, and they seem to be on the rise, while Italy will go into this game fresh from being crown Euro champions. Italy has won just once away at Switzerland, and it came back in 2003.

The last three games these teams played in Switzerland finished with a draw, but Italy should have too much for the Swiss this time around. They will be full of confidence from their Euro win, so Italy is clear favourites here.

Germany vs Armenia

They have suffered a shock defeat at home to North Macedonia in the last qualifying match, so they need to get back to winning days against Armenia. The Armenians are not to be underestimated as they have won all three games so far in the World Cup Qualifiers, and they sit on top of the group. However, Germany should be able to get the job done on Sunday.

England vs Andorra

A game which has one clear favourite, England are one of the nations to look out for when the World Cup begins next year. This will be a good game for Gareth Southgate to rotate his team and try out different formations.

Andorra hasn’t won a game since October 2019, so there is only one winner we can predict here. It should be a comfortable night for the England team and expect some of the debutants to bag a goal on Sunday.

Belgium vs Czech Republic

Belgium is a team that seems to be underachieving at every major tournament they have been to in the last 10 years. This may well be the last chance for this generation to make their mark and prove why some of their players are considered to be among the best in the world.

However, they are up against a lively Czech Republic team, who has shown during the summer that they should not be underestimated. They also play good, attacking football, so this should be a very exciting game to watch for the neutrals. Belgium will have too much for the Czechs however this time.
