Cardiff vs Stoke – Both Teams to Score? Yes

The Bluebirds were involved in a topsy-turvy contest on Saturday lunchtime as Neil Harris’ first game in charge ended all-square. In first half, the visitors were far too open and Charlton could have driven a bus through the centre of midfield. In the second period, the Welsh side played on the front foot and attacked with gusto. They probably should have won the game with Junior Hoilett spurning his opportunity from the spot. At home, Cardiff are a different proposition, winning five of their eight matches here. They’ve only failed to score once (in Neil Warnock’s last game in charge) and have kept just two clean sheets so far. Stoke left it late to nick three points against hapless Wigan on Saturday with Michael O’Neill making it back-to-back victories since taking charge of the Potters. This is his toughest assignment yet, although he seems to motivated his side and they do look increasingly dangerous going forward. They’ve now netted six in their last two and should be able to find a way past Cardiff’s back-line.

Fulham vs Derby – Fulham Win

The Cottagers made a slow start in Friday night’s West London derby and had to come from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory. They welcome back Aleksandar Mitrovic to the side for this midweek contest at the Cottage. Fulham’s home form has kept them competitive at the top of the table and they will be expected to collect their sixth home win of the campaign on Tuesday night. They’ve kept three clean sheets here this season and are generally happy to control games in front of their own fans. They aren’t quite firing on all cylinders yet, but they have a number of top-class players in their side. Derby beat Preston by a single goal on Saturday with fans hailing their first half performance as the ‘best of the season’. However, they were unable to add to their lead and weren’t able to continue their swashbuckling display in the second period. The Rams have struggled on their travels this season, losing four times. They’ve racked up three consecutive defeats away from home and they could struggle in West London. They’ve also had a day’s less rest than their opponents and may head back to the East Midlands empty-handed.

Huddersfield vs Swansea – Both Teams to Score? Yes

The Terriers have picked up massively since the Cowleys arrived in West Yorkshire and they picked up another point at the weekend. This recent run has helped move them three points clear of the relegation zone and they will fancy their chances of getting something from this tie. They’ve netted six times in their last four home outings and the former Lincoln boss(s) have got Fraizer Campbell fit and firing again. Swansea slumped to a disappointing home defeat to Millwall at the weekend, but they’ll be keen to cling onto the country’s only unbeaten away record. The Welsh side have W2 D2 in their last four away games and they’ve scored and conceded in each of them. Another decent game awaits and I expect both sides to hit the target.
