Championship Predictions
- Bournemouth vs Huddersfield
- Nottingham Forest vs Brentford
- Middlesbrough vs Millwall
- Derby vs Stoke
- Wycombe vs Coventry
Bournemouth v Huddersfield Prediction
Bournemouth to Win and BTTS – 12/5 with Coral.
Second place and second top goal scorers Bournemouth welcome inform Huddersfield to the Vitality on Saturday. Bournemouth followed up their emphatic 4-0 win over Barnsley with a hard fought goalless draw away to Swansea in midweek. Huddersfield have picked up back to back wins over QPR and Sheffield Wednesday and will be feeling extremely confident going into this fixture. Expect a good contest here with Bournemouth ultimately possessing that quality to help them to the 3 points.
Nottingham Forest v Brentford Prediction
Brentford to Win and Under 2.5 goals – 29/10 with Coral.
Chris Hughton has gone from steadying the ship to total free fall his side are now winless in 6 straight games (losing 5, drawing 1) and currently sit in 21st place, they fell to a 2-1 away defeat to Norwich in midweek. Brentford extended their unbeaten run to 10 games with a goalless draw at home to Derby, they would have been disappointed not to take all 3 points at home. The fixtures are coming thick and fast and Chris Hughton’s side will find it difficult to get anything from a resilient side like Brentford, expect Brentford to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games in a narrow victory.
Middlesbrough v Millwall Prediction
Middlesborough to Win to Nil – 9/4 with Coral.
Neil Warnock’s men have just gone off the boil of late, after a good run of results in October and November, they’re on a run of back to back defeats in December, the latest defeat coming at Preston 3-0. Neil Warnock will see Saturday as a perfect opportunity to get back on track, they face a Millwall side who are winless jn 9 straight games. Pressure is starting to mount on Gary Rowett and the Millwall faithfull have been making it known they haven’t won a game since October and most certainly they will be in for a difficult afternoon at the Riverside on Saturday. Expect Middlesbrough to grind out a narrow victory whilst keeping a clean sheet.
Derby v Stoke Prediction
Draw – 12/5 with Coral.
Ever since Wayne Rooney has taken over as caretaker manager his side have become draw specialists this will be seen as a sign of improvement rather than just losing games, they picked up a good point away to Brentford in midweek, that draw was their 3rd out of their last 4 games. Stoke’s 3 game unbeaten run came to an end when they were defeated at home by Cardiff 2-1, nevertheless they sit in 8th and will be relatively pleased with this. Expect another draw on the cards here, it’s clear Wayne Rooney’s main goal is to make his side tough to beat and extremely solid at the back, offensively they have suffered from this but in the long run it will prove vital.
Wycombe v Coventry Prediction
BTTS – 17/20 with Coral.
Two promoted sides clash at Adams Park on Saturday with both sides in need for the 3 points. Wycombe are winless in 7 games (drawing 4, losing 3) whilst Coventry have only picked up 2 wins in their last 8 games. With both managers seeing this fixture as a winnable game before the start of the season expect both sides to go out and try to collect the 3 points.
