Championship Tips: Middlesbrough v QPR, West Brom v Hull & Swansea v Sheff Wed Predictions

There are three matches in the Championship today starting at midday as West Brom look to consolidate second place, see our betting tips and predictions for each of the matches below.

Leeds ran out easy winners yesterday to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table, and now it’s the turn of West Brom, who play Hull City. At the other end, Middlesbrough have a vital home match with QPR.

 

Middlesbrough vs QPR

After sacking Johnathan Woodgate, the Middlesbrough board would have hoped for changes in fortune when they appointed Neil Warnock and based on the first game into the Warnock reign this decision could prove to be right. Warnock will know there’s still plenty of work to do and will hope for more wins to keep them in the Championship next season. With QPR not in playoff contention and not in any real danger of going down this has definitely shown in recent performances. West Brom vs Hull City

West Brom stopped the rot of 5 games without a win when they defeated Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 away convincingly midweek. They currently sit in the automatic promotion spot only 5 points clear from Brentford in 3rd. With no signs of Brentford letting up, Bilic will know his side need to show the levels they showed in their last game and secure a couple more vital wins pushing them closer to Premier League football once again. They welcome relegation strugglers Hull city to the Hawthorns. Hull have been in diabolical form, they have failed to win a single game in their last 14 Championship matches and if they don’t stop this rot soon they will be in real danger of going down. Expect West Brom to have far too much quality for the out of form Hull city side and really make a statement in this game proving they are ready for the Premier League.

 

Swansea vs Sheffield Wednesday

Playoff hopefuls Swansea failed to follow up their fantastic 3-0 away win at Middlesbrough by losing to bottom of the table Luton Town at home and drawing 1-1 to fellow playoff chasers Millwall. They sit only 4 points outside a playoff spot and will be keen to get back on track with a win on home soil against Sheffield Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday have seen their play off hopes fade away winning only once in their last 6 games. They are 9 points adrift from 6th place and with only 6 games to go this will be a tough ask to close the gap. Sheffield Wednesday have been on a downward spiral and will find it hard to get anything from their trip to Wales with their current form.
