Chelsea vs Liverpool Predictions

Liverpool could make some changes to their starting line-up after playing a youth team in both matches so far.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have now lost two of their last three matches.

Chelsea are stuttering in the league and their top 4 place is at risk.

Frank Lampard’s side have won just once in their last five games.

It is difficult to predict what is going to happen in this match while having to guess what kind of starting 11 Jurgen Klopp will play tonight. So far against Everton and Shrewsbury, he has played largely youth teams, however doing the same thing tonight would surely see them knocked out of the competition. It could be that players who have played a lot of matches recently are rested, so Divok Origi is likely to replace Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah will probably get a rest too. Adam Lallana is expected to start as is Naby Keita.

For Chelsea, they simply cannot afford to lose here. Their team are out of form and needed two goals from Marcus Alonso to rescue a point at Bournemouth on Saturday. They have beaten Nottingham Forest and Hull to get to this point but face a much tougher task tonight. Over 2.5 Goals Tip

ODDS – 3/4 (£50 bet returns £87.50 plus a £50 bonus)

The first prediction is going to be over 2.5 goals. This has happened in five of Chelsea’s last six matches now and they drew 2-2 at the weekend. Four of their last five home matches have had over 2.5 goals in including the 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and 2-2 draw with 10-man Arsenal in the Premier League.

For Liverpool, they conceded three at Watford on Saturday and with changes expected, their defence will not be as strong as it usually is. Van Dijk might get a rest ahead of the weekend Premier League game against Bournemouth, followed by the vital Champions League second leg tie at Anfield against Atletico Madrid. Goals are the first of our Chelsea vs Liverpool predictions and over 2.5 looks a solid bet.

Anytime Goalscorer Tip

Olivier Giroud has not had much playing time this season, but he is expected to start again tonight. He scored in the 2-1 league win over Tottenham and if Tammy Abraham is not fit enough for this game, the Frenchman will lead the Chelsea line tonight.

He’s only scored once all season but that is largely due to a lack of game-time and he’s expected to trouble the Liverpool defence tonight, especially if Van Dijk isn’t playing. He will be well supplied by the likes of Willian, Pedro or Mason Mount and his central play usually gets him chances.
