Everton vs Liverpool Preview & Betting Tips – Can Liverpool extend their unbeaten run against Everton?
Liverpool have not tasted defeat against their Merseyside rivals in the previous 21 meetings.
This Merseyside derby kicks-off at 7pm on Sunday 21st June 2020.
Everton vs Liverpool Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
Liverpool are within touching distance of their first Premier League win as they face off against their local rivals. Everton have improved dramatically under Carlo Ancelotti and will be looking to finish strongly.
Everton Form
Everton had a horror start to the campaign, finding themselves in a relegation scrap early on. However, since Ancelotti has taken the helm, Everton have improved immeasurably and look more than capable of finishing in the top half with plenty to build on next season.
The Toffees have lost just three Premier League fixtures in 2020 (against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea). Most notably, Everton’s goalscoring output had improved significantly with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison contributing heavily.
Despite the market improvement, Everton have still been leaking goals. They have kept a total of six clean sheets across the season, with just two since Ancelotti took charge.
Everton Team News
Theo Walcott, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Morgan Schneiderlin are all out injured. Fabian Delph and Yerry Mina are doubts.
Liverpool Form
Liverpool’s incredible form needs no introduction. The Reds have lost just once in the league this season and have dropped points on as few as two occasions.
Jurgen Klopp’s side kept ten clean sheets in eleven games earlier in the campaign but conceded six in three directly before lockdown. Everton managed to put two past Liverpool in their last meeting but were totally outplayed.
There may have been a dip in recent performances but Liverpool have still managed to keep the points coming and will be highly motivated given the opponent and the circumstances.
Liverpool Team News
Liverpool are still without Xherdan Shaqiri but otherwise should have a full complement to choose from.
Everton vs Liverpool Head to Head
Liverpool have won 121 meetings against Everton, drawing 83, and losing 82. Their recent record is quite emphatic with a 21-game unbeaten streak stretching back to October 2010.
Everton vs Liverpool Odds
- Everton are priced at 9/2 to win
- A draw is available at 10/3
- Liverpool are heavy favourites at odds of 8/15 to win
Everton vs Liverpool Prediction
Expect a far more tightly contested game than the last Premier League Merseyside derby. Everton will be desperate to prolong Liverpool’s inevitable title win for as long as possible and may just have enough to cause a bit of an upset.
Everton vs Liverpool Stats
- Liverpool have conceded six goals in their last three games
- Liverpool have won 27 of their 29 league games
- Everton have lost just three of their last 14 Premier League fixtures
Everton vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Liverpool’s defence shipped a few goals right before lockdown and Everton’s much-improved attack may well take advantage of that. Even still, a draw is surely the best the Toffees can hope for.
