Gillingham vs Coventry Prediction & Betting Tips
Gillingham vs Coventry prediction and betting tips for the EFL Cup fixture on Tuesday 15th September from Priestfield Stadium. Kick-off is 6.00pm.
Newly promoted Coventry will want to avoid an upset against League Two Gillingham in the EFL Cup this week, but both sides got their new season off to a poor start with defeats on Saturday. The EFL Cup might be a good way to generate some much-needed revenue for these sides but that relies on getting a big team for TV money.
Gillingham vs Coventry Prediction
The Gills might just fancy their chances against their former League One counterparts in this early EFL Cup kick-off on Tuesday. Despite losing 2-0 in their opening league game of the season, they did beat Crawley Town 2-1 in the first round of this season’s EFL Cup and finished last season by winning nine of their last 13 home matches.
Coventry started life in the Championship with a 2-1 loss to Bristol City but were holding the hosts until the final 10 minutes. The Sky Blues are likely to be towards the bottom end of the Championship this season, whereas Gillingham will be looking to get into the play-offs in League One. The League Cup is always a distraction to these smaller teams and if changes are made, we could see quite a few goasl at the Priestfield.
