Premier League Tips – Preview, Score Prediction Betting Tips for Saturday’s Fixtures

Leeds United betting tips

The Premier League never disappoints, does it? The much-awaited return of the most exciting league in the world brought excitement, just as it was expected to do so. Of course, there were some shock results, like Arsenal’s defeat at Brentford, or Spurs’ impressive win over Manchester City, but we are getting used to surprise outcomes by now.

The second round of fixtures is a good opportunity for some teams to bounce back from the disappointing results, and for some to continue with the good form. Having a good start to any campaign is vital for the outcome, as early momentum brings confidence levels up, and it is a basis of a good and successful season. Let’s see below how we predict the outcome of matchday number 2.

Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool started the season with an impressive 3-0 win against Norwich at Carrow Road, and they will be expected to continue with the good form. Based on last season’s form, as well as the first game against Brighton, there isn’t much that boosts Burnley’s hopes for their trip to Anfield.

Liverpool have impressed in the latter stages of last season, and they proved against Norwich that it was not a coincidence, as the return of their injured stars seems to have brought the Reds back to their brilliant best.

Burnley have managed only one win in their last games against Liverpool, and it came last season, where they shocked the Reds with a narrow 1-0 win at Anfield. This game, however, is likely to have a different outcome, as this Liverpool side will be much better than that side that seemed like a shadow of themselves.

Another factor that has to be mentioned in the crowd. We all know that Anfield is a completely different place when fully packed, and this will be the first home game for Liverpool with crowd presence since before the outbreak of the pandemic, and it is sure to have an electric atmosphere.  With all that being said, we expect a comfortable win for the Reds which will additionally put more pressure on Sean Dyche’s men.

Betting Tip: Sadio Mane to score anytime (21/20)

Score Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Burnley (13/2)

Aston Villa vs Newcastle

Aston Villa begun their new chapter without Jack Grealish with a disappointing 3-2 defeat at newly-promoted Watford last week. They were not convincing at all, and even though they added quality players to their squad, it is obvious they will need time to click.

Aston Villa have won 3 of their last 10 Premier League games, and they have seen both them and their opponents scoring in each of their last 4 games, so it means they do have a job on their hands to sort their defensive issues. They have some injury issues with Ollie Watkins, Trezeguet, and Douglas Luiz unlikely to feature.

Newcastle seem to be forever in trouble, as they cannot sort out the ownership issue fans have with Mike Ashley. They started their campaign with a 4-2 defeat against West Ham at home. However, they are a difficult nut to crack on their travels lately, as they haven’t lost their last 4 away games. Paul Dummet, Martin Dubravka, and Eliot Anderson will be unavailable for this match.

With all this being said, both teams need to steady their ships after the disappointment they had in the first match. Given the defensive problems they have, we do not expect a dull match, and probably both teams will settle for a draw.

Betting Tip: Draw (11/4)

Score Prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Newcastle (7/1)

Crystal Palace vs Brentford

Both teams come into this match with opposite results. Crystal Palace lost their opening match at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, and Brentford impressively beat Arsenal 2-0. The Patrick Vieira era at Selhurst Park didn’t start as fans might have hoped so, and it will take some time to make things work.

They seem to rely too much on the individual quality of Wilfried Zaha, and he can do ever so much for the team on his own. Brentford, on the other hand, are flying high, as they showed they are in for a fight in this season’s campaign, and they won’t just quietly go away, they are here to stay. They deserved their win against the Gunners, and they will be hoping to repeat the same trick against Crystal Palace.

It is worth saying that Crystal Palace’s 9 of their previous 11 home games have served under 3.5 goals, and it is the same for Brentford’s 11 of their last 13 away games, so it all points to a low-scoring game. Brentford might have a slight advantage based on recent form, but we will go for a draw in this one.

Betting Tip: Both teams to score (19/20)

Score Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Brentford (11/2)

Leeds vs Everton

The battle of two football masterminds – Marcelo Bielsa vs Rafa Benitez. Leeds will be hoping to bounce back after a heavy defeat against Man Utd on the opening day. The end of the previous campaign was solid for Leeds, as they have only lost two of their last 12 Premier League games.

They play some exciting football, and even though Benitez is known for making his teams difficult to break down, it is still early days and he needs time to implement his ideas at Everton. Leeds need to restore the fans’ faith, and a good result will be vital here for them.

Leeds concede way too many goals, and even though they finished 9th last season, they had the second-worst defensive record among the top 12 teams in the league. Everton’s strikers seem to get better with each season, and Dominic Calvert Lewin together with Richarlison will be confident of exploiting Leeds’ problems.

The Toffees started their campaign with a solid win against Southampton, and they will hope to continue that against Bielsa’s side. We back them to do so and exploit the problems Leeds have, giving them a reality check that they need to improve to be considered a stable Premier League side.

Betting Tip: Everton to win (2/1)

Score Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Everton (11/1)

Manchester City vs Norwich

City suffered a shock defeat against a Tottenham side, without their talisman Harry Kane. The England striker still dominates headlines, as he continues to be linked with a move to City. However, this has not deterred Nuno Espirito Santo’s men and they have shown that against City on the opening week.

That match showed how much City need a striker to replace Sergio Aguero, who departed for Barcelona during the summer. They have dominated possession, as usual, created chances, but there wasn’t a prolific striker to convert them. New signing Jack Grealish will need time to adapt, but City have to return to winning ways against Norwich.

Norwich also had an afternoon to forget against Liverpool, as they were outclassed against the Reds. Their confidence levels are surely low, and they will not fancy their chances against City at the Etihad. Norwich’s away games guarantee goals, with over 2.5 goals scored in 9 of their last 11 away games. This may sound the alarm bells if you are up against Manchester City, and we expect City to be back to their brilliant best with a comfortable victory.

Betting Tip: Over 3.5 goals (10/11)

Score Prediction: Manchester City 4-0 Norwich (8/1)

Brighton vs Watford

Both teams head into this game with a victory on their opening matches, so the pressure is not that big on them this time around. Both teams play exciting, attacking football, with neutrals pleased whenever they watch them.

Brighton managed to impressively come from behind against Burnley and secure a 2-1 away victory, and Watford edged out a much-changed Aston Villa side 3-2 at home. Both teams will fancy their chances in this match, as they are aware of the defensive problems the opposition has. This will be a game that will see lots of mistakes, and the team that will have the better finishing touch will just edge it. It is a close game to call, as it can go either way, but we lean slightly towards a home win.

Betting Tip: Over 2.5 goals (6/5)

Score Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Watford (17/2)
