Three losses in four in the league has seen the gap to fifth place cut. Even so, Chelsea are still a reasonably healthy, five points ahead of Manchester United in the race for the top four. A win over Lille to qualify for the Champions League knockouts on Tuesday will have raised spirits but Frank Lampard needs to get his side back on track in the Premier League.

Bournemouth are bottom of the form table after five straight defeats. The Cherries have slipped to fifteenth, just one point above the relegation zone. They have failed to score in either of their last two games and have averaged over two goals against per game since their last point. Eddie Howe was linked to the Everton job when Marco Silva was sacked but that link looks to have gone quiet. They’ve only won one of their last ten matches now and things don’t get any easier at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

This is a Bournemouth side enduring their worst spell of the season. The same can be said for Chelsea but success in the Champions League should life the Stamford Bridge crowd.
