England

The Three Lions have made light work of qualifying for most of the campaign. Besides a shaky second half against Kosovo and a disappointing 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic, it has been plain sailing for Gareth Southgate’s men. England are three points clear at the top of the group and can potentially seal qualification with a game to spare.

Montenegro

Montenegro fans would have expected a lot more from their nations at the start of the campaign. They are without a win in seven qualifiers and have already been mathematically eliminated from the competition. They lost 5-1 at home the last time they faced England back in March.

England vs Montenegro Stats

  • England won 5-1 in Podgorica in March
  • Hosts qualify with draw or if Kosovo lose
  • Visitors cannot reach EURO via Group A

Another Goal Fest

England have scored four goals or more in five of their six qualifiers this year. The only game to involve fewer than four goals was their 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic. Six goals were scored between these nations in the reverse fixture and it would be no surprise to see a similar scoreline at Wembley.

Rashford on the Scoresheet

Marcus Rashford has picked up his goalscoring form for Manchester United in recent weeks. The England international scored in his last start for the Three Lions with a beautifully struck effort against Bulgaria. With Raheem Sterling’s place on the left-wing vacant due to disciplinary issues, Rashford is likely to be afforded a start on his favoured flank.

England vs Montenegro Score Prediction

Southgate’s side have scored exactly five goals on three occasions this campaign. Even without Sterling, England have had six other scorers including Harry Kane with eight goals and Ross Barkley with four. Montenegro have little to play for and haven’t scored in their last four qualifiers.
