Olympiakos vs Tottenham Predictions

Spurs kick-off their Champions League campaign with a trip to Olympiakos. They started the season in questionable form, but a 4-0 first-half demolition of a previously watertight Crystal Palace defence will have boosted their confidence. Son Heung Min bagged a brace in that match and looks to be finding form.

Tottenham will have plenty of attacking options heading into this encounter with the likes Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen all available. Serge Aurier made his first Premier League start of the season last time out and also looked very dangerous down the right, providing two assists from fullback. We’re backing Lucas Moura to start midweek having only played five minutes at the weekend. The Tottenham forward is priced at 15/8 to score.

Spurs reverted to a back four after their North London Derby collapse. Jan Vertonghen partnered Toby Alderweireld at centre back for the first time this season, resulting in Tottenham’s first clean sheet. If the two are to line up alongside each other once again, Spurs stand a good chance of winning to nil. Davinson Sanchez and Kyle Walker-Peters are doubts for this midweek fixture so we could see a very similar backline once again. Olympiakos have won all three of their league matches to nil but have faced far inferior opponents. Spurs to win to nil is priced at 11/5.

The North Londoners’ games have averaged 3.4 goals a game so far this season. Their four goals scored last time out was a season-high and with the doubts over Eriksen’s departure put to the side, for the time being, Tottenham appear to have settled. Four of their five matches have involved over 2.5 goals and we’re backing that once more against Olympiakos.
