Newcastle fans look set to finally get rid of Mike Ashley as a takeover edges ever closer. There are now some movements in the next Newcastle manager odds with Steve Bruce looking unlikely to keep his job. Pochettino Backed to be Next Newcastle Manager

Current Odds – 3/1 with Bet Victor. The former Tottenham manager has been out of work since leaving Spurs earlier this season but he would be a perfect fit for Newcastle. After his success at Southampton and then taking Spurs close to winning the Premier League and Champions League, the Argentine manager might relish the chance to turn Newcastle back into a top-four club. Despite being linked heavily with the Manchester United and Bayern Munich jobs since leaving Tottenham, Pochettino has been biding his time before taking on a new challenge. Newcastle could be exactly the opportunity he is looking for. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Newcastle went after Pochettino to be their next manager and if the rumours are true that he wants to stay in England, the odds of 3/1 offered by Bet Victor for Mauricio Pochettino to be the next Newcastle manager could be worth a bet.  

Kevin Keegan Linked to a Return to Newcastle

Current Odds – 6/1 with Betfair. One of the stranger names in the next Newcastle manager odds is former boss Kevin Keegan. He was 66/1 a few days ago and is now best priced 6/1 with Bet Victor. Although Betfair and Paddy Power are both only offering 11/4. It is hard to believe Newcastle would ask Keegan to return to the club. The support for him is likely a few Newcastle fans who have heard a rumour. The Daily Mirror reported that Keegan would be lined up to take a role if the takeover was complete. It is more likely to be in the backroom staff or as a Newcastle ambassador than the managerial role.

Could Steven Gerrard be the next Newcastle Manager?

Current Odds – 25/1 with Paddy Power. Looking at the outsiders in the odds for next Newcastle United manager, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is an interesting name at odds of 25/1 with Betfair. Gerrard has made no secret of his desire to return to Liverpool one day. But with Jurgen Klopp doing such a good job there and showing no signs of leaving the Premier League Champions-elect, Gerrard might look to take another job in the Premier League first. A club like Newcastle would be a perfect stepping stone and a good role to get managerial experience in the Premier League. He would have the appreciation of a huge fanbase just like he currently does at Rangers and it would be a challenge he’d likely relish. It remains to be seen whether the new Newcastle owners opt for a more experienced manager such as Italian Massimiliano Allegri, who seems to be linked to Premier League managerial roles every other week. The former AC Milan and Juventus boss is out of work and one of the most highly sought-after managers around. He has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United in the not too distant past. Allegri is currently 6/1 with Bet Victor to be the next Newcastle United manager.
