Newcastle have not played since 7th March and since then, the takeover by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia has come into fruition and moved close to completion. If that takeover is completed Newcastle will become one of the richest clubs in the Premier League and are expected to replace current manager Steve Bruce with a high calibre name.
Depending on when the Premier League season resumes, Newcastle could have new owners and possibly a new manager before they play their next competitive fixture and at the moment, former boss Rafa Benitez is the favourite in the next Newcastle manager odds.
When Steve Bruce took the job there was nothing short of uproar amongst the Toon Army, but it is hard to argue with the job Bruce has done on a shoestring budget after Mke Ashley refused to put any more money into the club. When the league was halted Newcastle were sat on 35 points in 12th position. Eight points above the relegation zone.
If the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia complete their £310m takeover then there will be more strong calls from the Newcastle fans to replace Steve Bruce as manager, and there are some high-class names towards the head of the next Newcastle United manager betting odds.
Is Rafa Benitez Set to Return to Newcastle?
Current odds – 7/4 with Bet Victor. Benitez and the Newcastle fans had a very special relationship and it would be fantastic to see the Spaniard return to St James’ Park. He left at the end of his contract after a dispute about finances for new players but that would be no issue with the new owners. The odds for Benitez to be the next Newcastle manager are currently 7/4 with Bet Victor but they would need to negotiate a deal with his current club, Dalian Professional in the Chinese Super League. he has a contract there until Winter 2021.Pochettino Backed to be Next Newcastle Manager
Current Odds – 3/1 with Bet Victor. The former Tottenham manager has been out of work since leaving Spurs earlier this season but he would be a perfect fit for Newcastle. After his success at Southampton and then taking Spurs close to winning the Premier League and Champions League, the Argentine manager might relish the chance to turn Newcastle back into a top-four club. Despite being linked heavily with the Manchester United and Bayern Munich jobs since leaving Tottenham, Pochettino has been biding his time before taking on a new challenge. Newcastle could be exactly the opportunity he is looking for. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Newcastle went after Pochettino to be their next manager and if the rumours are true that he wants to stay in England, the odds of 3/1 offered by Bet Victor for Mauricio Pochettino to be the next Newcastle manager could be worth a bet.Kevin Keegan Linked to a Return to Newcastle
Current Odds – 6/1 with Betfair. One of the stranger names in the next Newcastle manager odds is former boss Kevin Keegan. He was 66/1 a few days ago and is now best priced 6/1 with Bet Victor. Although Betfair and Paddy Power are both only offering 11/4. It is hard to believe Newcastle would ask Keegan to return to the club. The support for him is likely a few Newcastle fans who have heard a rumour. The Daily Mirror reported that Keegan would be lined up to take a role if the takeover was complete. It is more likely to be in the backroom staff or as a Newcastle ambassador than the managerial role.Kevin Keegan is lined up for Newcastle return when £300million Saudi takeover goes through. The man idolised as ‘The Messiah’ by the Toon Army will be invited to take up an ambassadorial role when the £300m buy-out is finalised. [Mirror] #NUFC
