Bet builder betting tip for the first Euro 2020 semi-final clash at Wembley on Tuesday 6th July. Italy are on a remarkable run of form and have cruised through the tournament so far. Spain needed penalties to get past Switzerland in the quarter-finals. Roberto Mancini has got his Italian side playing some tremendous football and after winning all three of their group stage matches they needed extra-time to beat Austria in the last 16. Their quarter final match was against the number one ranked side in the world Belgium, but they managed a 2-1 win in a tight game. Spain have not had things so easy so far. They drew their first two group stage matches before beating Slovakia 5-0 in their last group game. In the last 16 match against Croatia, they were taken to extra time in a 3-3 draw but managed to score twice in the extra 30 minutes to win 5-3. Then their quarter final went all the way to penalties, Enrique’s side couldn’t see out 10 man Switzerland in extra-time and needed a penalty shootout. These two European giants now meet at Wembley in the semi-final and Italy are the 7/5 favourites to win the match. Spain are 2/1 to win and the draw after 90 minutes is 21/10.

Ciro Immobile to score anytime

The Italian forward has scored twice in his four matches so far this tournament and with Spain’s poor defence, he will get chances in this game. Insigne is the other big goalscoring threat for Italy and he scored in the quarter final. However, Immobile will fancy his chances against this Spanish backline that has lacked dominance in their matches so far. This was evident especially against Croatia.  

Lorenzo Insigne to have 2+ shots on target

We’re expecting Italy to get the better of Spain here and Insigne isn’t shy to have a pop at goal. He had three shots against Belgium, with two of them being on target and one resulting in a goal. Spain are likely to concede chances in this game and it could be wide open. Italy have been great going forward so far and that will give their forward players plenty of oppotunities to get shots off.  

Spain to have 5+ shots on target

Even though they have struggled defensively in recent matches, you cannot argue with the amount of shots Spain have managed. Against Switzerland they laid siege to the oppositions goal, with a total of 28 shots. 10 of those were on target. Against Croatia in the last 16, they also had 10 shots on target, with 23 attempts in total. In what is expected to be an open game for a semi-final, shots on target could be the way to go.  

Pau Torres to be booked

The Italians are well known for their play acting and it was on show again in the quarter final. Laporte was booked in the quarter final and now it could be his central defensive partners turn to go into the book. With Spain being poor at the back on the whole, some rash challenges to stop Italy’s attacks are not out of the question here.
