Aston Villa vs Man United bet builder tips and match predictions for Sunday’s fixture in the Premier League.
Aston Villa welcome Manchester United to Villa Park this Sunday on the back of their historic Champions League win over Bayern Munich during the week. Villa have won four, drawn one and lost one in the league this season, leaving them in fifth place. They are 10/3 to repeat last season and finish in the top four.
United are struggling big time, with many believing their currently form should spell the end for manager Erik Ten Hag. They finished eighth last season and are currently 13th with two wins from six. They are 6/5 for a top six finish this season.
Betting odds:
Following their midweek triumph against European royalty Bayern Munich, Villa will be flying high with confidence as they come into this one against struggling Man United. Unai Emery’s side are unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions, with their last defeat coming at home to Arsenal at the end of August. United have won just one of their last five – a 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley. I don’t think the Red Devils fortunes will change here, and I’m backing Villa to take all three points.
🎯Ollie Watkins over 0.5 shots on target
Ollie Watkins is the man for Aston Villa. He has been excellent so far this season, being a constant threat and putting defenders under pressure. To match his performances, he has bagged himself four goals and two assists in the opening six league games of the season, and has one assist in the Champions League. He scored 19 goals in 34 league matches last season, and he looks on track to at least match that this time around. He has had nine shots on target this season, an average of 1.5 per game, and I’m backing him to have at least one here.
🟨Fernandes & Onana to be booked
We’re backing two players for a card in this one. Despite one being rescinded, Bruno Fernandes has remarkably been sent off in his last two outings, once in the league, and last time out in the Europa League with two yellows. The United captain has a clear discipline issue, and has one red and one yellow to his name in the league this season. I think he’s good odds to pick up another card here. Amadou Onana is a very physical midfielder, and we’re backing him to get carded here. He has been booked twice in his opening six games of the season, making 10 fouls in the process. I think he will make a couple more here and there’s a good chance of him seeing yellow.
