Villa come into this one after exciting the Champions League, despite a 3-2 victory over PSG in the second leg. They’re seventh in the league and three off the top four. To finish in the top four this season, they’re 7/1. Newcastle have risen to third in the league, two ahead of Forest in fourth and four behind second-placed Arsenal. They’re in good form and are 13/1 to finish in the top two.

We’re backing both teams to score in a game between two in-form teams. Newcastle have scored 22 in their last 10 matches, notching 61 goals in the league, third highest behind Liverpool and Man City. Villa have scored 24 in their last 10 in all competitions, with 49 league goals to their name. Both teams have scored in two of the last three meetings between these two, and with a lot to play for at this point of the season, both teams will be going all out. I think both teams to score is a good bet here. Alexander Isak is the man we’re backing for a shot on target here. He has 25 goals to his name this season, with 21 goals in 29 league matches. He has bagged three in the Carabao Cup and one in the Champions League. He has had 39 shots on target in the league, giving him an average of well over one shot on target per game. Newcastle will have plenty of chances and are free-scoring at the moment. With Isak being their main man up top, I think he’s great odds to have one or more shot on target here. We’re gone for two players to be carded here, midfielders from both sides – Bruno Guimaraes and John McGinn. Guimaraes has been carded 10 times in all competitions this season, with five in the Premier League, three in the Carabao Cup and two in the Champions League. He has made 48 fouls in 32 league matches. John McGinn has been carded eight times this season, with seven in the league and one in the Champions league, coming last time out against Real Madrid. He has made 43 fouls in 28 league matches, an average of over 1.5 per game. I think both players are good odds for a booking here.
