Newcastle vs Arsenal Predictions

This one is a huge game, with a spot in the Carabao Cup Final up for grabs. Newcastle come into the game with a two-goal lead from the first leg, and it’ll be incredibly difficult for Arsenal to progress. That said, we are backing them to win in 90 minutes. The Gunners will throw absolutely everything at Newcastle as they search for three goals to turn the game on its head, and I think they’ll put the home side under a lot of pressure. I’m not sure they’ll turn the two-legged tie around, but I do think they’ll win this one.

Ethan Nwaneri is breaking into the Arsenal first 11, with some very impressive performances in recent weeks. He has scored in each of his last two appearances for the Gunners, one when he started against Girona in the Champions League, and another to top off Arsenal’s fantastic 5-1 win over City, after coming on as a substitute. I think Arsenal will create a lot of chances here, and it’s another good opportunity for him to show what he’s all about. He’s good odds to score or assist in this one.

Despite thinking Arsenal will create the majority of chances here, Newcastle have been good this season and have made a lot of chances of their own. It’ll be the same here, as they won’t allow Arsenal back into the game easily. Isak averages 1.5 shots on target per game this season, with 19 goals to his name, two of which came in this competition. Murphy averages around 0.5 shots on target per game, but was on target last time out and will be confident heading into this one.
