Sunderland vs Norwich Bet Builder Tips – 11/4 Prediction for the Saturday Lunchtime Kick-off

We head to the North East once more on Saturday as Norwich the 580-mile round trip to The Stadium of Light where they face Sunderland and we’ve got bet builder tips for the lunchtime kick-off in the Championship. After the first five games of the season, both of these sides find themselves in the top half of the Championship. Sunderland sit in 5^th having only lost one game so far, a start their fans could have only dreamed of. Norwich started this campaign slowly, but are steadily finding form having won their last two league fixtures at Carrow Road. These sides haven’t faced off in the league since 2018 when they played out a 1-1 draw at this venue. Prior to that, they were both somewhat Premier League regulars, facing off on eight occasions between 2011-2016. I’m expecting this one to be an entertaining Saturday lunchtime match and I’ve picked out an 11/4 Bet Builder to keep this one interesting.

Over 1.5 goals

This selection has landed in all of the home sides fixtures this term, and all bar one of Norwich’s when they lost 1-0 on the opening day of the season. Both teams like to attack with purpose, and I can see there being goals in this one. I contemplated the over 2.5 market, but I’m going safe with the over 1.5 selection. In their recent head-to-heads there have been goals, with over 1.5 landing in the last five. I’ll be very surprised if this is a dull affair and quite frankly see nothing but goals.

This is another confident selection. Sunderland are currently the league’s dirtiest team, having picked up a grand total of 20 yellow cards already this term. Norwich aren’t quite as bad, but have picked up six themselves and being away from home in this one I can see at least one of their players being carded. Both sides will look to get on the ball, meaning a real battle for possession in front of a fiery Sunderland home crowd can only result in one thing; bookings!  

Ross Stewart over 2.5 shots in the match

Sunderland target man Stewart has had a fantastic start to life in the Championship, netting three times in the opening five games. He’s currently averaging 2.8 shots per game, and I fancy him to continue that trend in this one with our Saturday shot on target tips. He’s a versatile, athletic forward who is capable of getting on the end of crosses as well as shooting from distance. I don’t think Norwich will find this an easy match, and Stewart will be the one looking to make things happen for the home side.  

Josh Sargent over 0.5 shots on target

American forward Sargent has stepped up to the plate for Norwich in recent weeks in the absence of their prolific forward Teemu Pukki. He’s scored three goals in his last two matches, including a brace against Millwall last weekend. I’m fancying him to continue that excellent form this weekend and at least test Anthony Patterson in the Sunderland net.
