Sheffield Wednesday to beat Blackburn
Rotherham to beat Bristol Rovers
Northampton to beat Morecambe
Barnet to beat Dagenham
Notts County to beat Dover
Accumulator Odds – 13/1.
After winning 2-0 at Leeds in their previous game, Sheffield Wednesday now host Blackburn in Championship action and that clash features in this Saturday Accumulator alongside Rotherham’s home fixture with out-of-form Bristol Rovers in League One. A game in League Two is also covered with Northampton welcoming poor travellers Morecambe while the final selections involve National League fixtures games at Barnet and Notts County with both teams proving difficult to beat in weeks months.
After suffering three successive defeats over the festive period, Sheffield Wednesday returned to winning ways in their last two matches with impressive victories at Brighton and Leeds. The Owls had claimed thirteen points from five games prior to those three defeats and now host a Blackburn team which has lost three consecutive competitive fixtures on the road and are winless since earning three points at Bristol City during mid-December. Rovers can be a difficult outfit to beat but despite losing key striker Steven Fletcher to an injury problem, Wednesday could claim another three points.
A sequence of four successive League One victories with at least two goals scored per game has allowed Rotherham to claim top position in the league table and the in-form Millers were particularly impressive when winning 3-1 at a useful Oxford team last weekend. Bristol Rovers will be their visitors on Saturday and the Gas have avoided defeat in just one of five competitive fixtures this year. A 2-2 home draw with Coventry in FA Cup action was followed by a 3-0 loss in the midweek replay and Rovers are facing another loss when travelling to Rotherham.
When claiming a 2-1 midweek home win against Port Vale, Morecambe moved three points clear of the League Two relegation zone but while their recent home form is respectable, the Shrimps have earned just one point from their last six away matches with a single goal netted. A visit to Northampton now awaits with the hosts proving to be a formidable team at Sixfields since mid-October. The Cobblers have won six of their last seven league matches at the venue with a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham last month preventing seven successive victories. Another home win is predicted.
Although they have become draw specialists in recent weeks, Barnet are unbeaten in National League action since narrowly losing 2-1 at league leaders Barrow back in late November. The Bees have also conceded no more than one goal per game from the beginning of December onwards and now host a Dagenham team that has failed to win a match since beating Aldershot 6-1 two months previously. With just a single point earned on the road from early October onwards, the Daggers appear set for another away loss.
As one of the current in-form teams in National League action, Notts County will be seeking to win a fifth game in six matches when welcoming Dover and County have also won two recent games in the FA Trophy. Unbeaten in league action since late November, the hosts face a visiting team which has proved to be inconsistent in the past few months. Dover were beaten 3-0 at Bromley in their previous away match after winning 3-0 in the reverse fixture last month, but Notts County may be a far greater test with a home win predicted.
