United looking to move Casemiro on

Although there might have been a huge amount of excitement around Old Trafford as Casemiro completed a blockbuster move to Manchester United, the former Real Madrid ace is dealing with some extended injury issues.

Despite only arriving in the Premier League 15 months ago for a fee of £70million, the 31-year-old featured in just one of United’s final seven appearances prior to November’s international break.

Expected to the on the sidelines for another spell, there has been growing speculation that Casemiro could already be heading for the Old Trafford exit.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25% takeover expected to be formally announced over the next week, reports have suggested that United are keen on cashing in on the 75-cap Brazil international.

Along with continued speculation regarding a big-money move to Saudi Arabia, it is believed that the Red Devils are open to offers when the January transfer window opens up.

United already eyeing their Casemiro replacement

With it reported that Manchester United are keen on cashing in on Casemiro when the January transfer window gets underway, it appears that the Old Trafford hierarchy have already eyed up their dream replacement.

With Erik ten Hag reportedly looking to recruit more youthful options at the heart of United’s midfield, it has been suggested that the former Ajax boss is keen on Benfica starlet Joao Neves.

Already sending scouts over to watch the 19-year-old on multiple occasions this season, the club are expected to make an official decision once Ratcliffe’s arrival is completed.

Featuring in all of Benfica’s first 11 domestic appearances this season, the Portuguese starlet is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest young prospects.

Although Manchester United might be bracing themselves for a string of changes behind the scenes at Old Trafford, the Premier League giants should have all of their attention firmly fixed on securing another top-four finish this season.
