First Premier League Manager to be Sacked Odds – Who will be sacked first this season?

First Premier League manager sacked odds

As the new Premier League season is set to begin in less than a month, the English clubs are trying to make use of the summer transfer window to bring in some decent players to their teams. These are crucial weeks for strengthening the teams, which can determine the outcome of the following season.

Making a bad job during the summer transfer window can seriously impact the team’s performance and with that, some managers might get sacked during the early part of the campaign. Although it is a long season, almost every year we are witnessing some early manager changes.

Below we will list the managers that are leading the race for the first sacking in the Premier League.

Ralph Hasenhuttl (11/2) – Southampton

Ralph Hasenhuttl is the current favourite in the next Premier League manager to be sacked odds, but many football experts, as well as the sportsbooks, are suggesting that that will happen sooner rather than later.

Last season, the Saints finished in 15th place following a dreadful season with only nine wins and 13 draws. By the looks of it, Southampton will have to fight to avoid relegation, as some bookies are as short as 3/1 for Hasenhuttl to be the first manager to be sacked this season.

The Austrian has never managed to secure a top-half finish since his appointment in December 2018 and it looks unlikely again this campaign.

Jesse Marsch (13/2) – Leeds United

Jesse March was appointed as Leeds manager in February 2022, following the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa. Miraculously, Marsch has managed to avoid relegation in a tight race with Burnley last season, which looked unlikely going into the final fixture against Brentford but they managed to secure a 2-1 win and keep their place in the top flight.

The odds Jesse Marsch to be the first Premier League manager sacked in the 2022/23 season are 13/2 with William Hill. During his 12 matches in charge, Marsch had a 33.33% winning percentage, which wasn’t great but it finished the job off and kept them safe. It has been all change at Leeds so far this summer with six new signings and Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips leaving the club, will that mean Leeds struggle to survuve in the Premier League this season?

So far in this summer transfer window, Leeds has spent almost £100 million on new players, but they also lost a few of its key players, which is always a risky business to do, especially if your team is facing relegation.

Frank Lampard (7/1) – Everton

Franck Lampard is the third favourite for the first to be sacked manager in the Premier League following what some people thought was a rather dreadful half-season with Everton. Since his appointment in January 2022, Lampard has managed to win 8, draw 2, and lose 11 games, which isn’t a good record for any manager but after the problems he walked into, survival was the main aim.

Last season, Everton put themselves in a very bad situation under Rafa Benitez, as they were threatened by relegation right until their last couple of Premier League fixtures. Even the summer transfer window isn’t going in favour for the Toffees, as they sold their star player Ricarlison to Tottenham and have failed to sign at least one decent player.

Lampard’s odds to be the first manager sacked this season are 7/1 and with Everton’s tough fixtures, he might not get the time he wants to rebuild the team.
