Fantasy Football DGW 24 Preview, Advice and Tips

Fantasy Football tips

Gameweek 24 is the first double gameweek of the season. Liverpool and West Ham will each play twice so with that in mind, here are some DGW options to look out for as well as some single gameweek gems.

In our captain’s tips for this gameweek we have focused on the Liverpool players, and most people will be looking to triple up on Jurgen Klopp’s side. However, there is a chance one or two will be rested in one of the games with Liverpool so far clear in the title race.

Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

We kick off this double gameweek with two of the top scoring defenders in the game. Alexander-Arnold is the most popular Liverpool defender but Andrew Robertson (7.0m) and Virgil van Dijk (6.4m) shouldn’t be overlooked. The pair sit second and third in the overall defenders’ rankings and have contributed 11 attacking returns between them.

If your budget can’t handle another premium asset in your defence, perhaps Joe Gomez (5.2m) deserves a look. Having started each of the last seven league games, Gomez looks to have nailed down his place in the heart of the Reds defence. The England international may not offer a lot of attacking points potential but seven consecutive clean sheets more than justifies his price.

West Ham’s double gameweek fixtures are far from appealing on paper. The Hammers face Liverpool and Leicester this gameweek but there could be some value in their picks. Issa Diop (4.4m) and Aaron Cresswell (4.7m) are the pick of their defenders. Neither break the bank and the latter has already scored three this season.

Chelsea have gone off the boil of late and embark on a tough run of fixtures, kicking off with Arsenal. Their defensive assets are best avoided ahead of the unkind run of fixtures, especially Fikayo Tomori (4.5m), who has not featured in the last three gameweeks.

Midfielders Tips

Besides the two very obvious Liverpool mids, there aren’t many who stand out ahead of the double gameweek. Mark Noble (5.0m) is far from an exciting pick but at his price, he is very affordable and has scored three times this season thanks to his spot-kick duties.

Moving away from Liverpool and West Ham, Jack Grealish (6.6m) looks to be a great choice once again as Villa host Watford. The Hornets look to have found their feet but Grealish is in excellent form and took his tally to seven goals and six assists for the season last time out.

On the other end of the form spectrum is Lucas Moura (7.1m). Tottenham have been poor since the turn of the year and Lucas has failed to score in his last five. However, Harry Kane’s long-term injury afforded the Brazilian the opportunity to start up front against West Ham, a tactical switch which could see him return points against a poor Norwich defence this week.

Forwards Tips

Owned by under 15% of managers, Roberto Firmino (9.5m) could be a decent differential this week. Three goals in his last four isn’t ground-breaking but notably, all seven of his league goals have come away from home. Wolves (A) and West Ham (A) could spell points for his owners.

Mason Greenwood’s (4.4m) appeal has been boosted by Rashford’s injury which should see more game time for the United teenager.
