FPL Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

Our first Spurs choice is goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga (4.5m). First choice keeper, Hug Lloris, remains sidelined for the foreseeable making Gazzaniga the cheapest route into the Tottenham defence. Spurs were unable to record a clean sheet in Mourinho’s first game in charge but face a goal-shy Bournemouth next.

Serge Aurier (4.8m) makes a return to our recommendations largely due to Mourinho’s arrival. The Ivorian right-back is boosted by Mourinho’s impressive defensive record but was also seen to be playing an advanced role against West Ham. Aurier was often station on the right of a front five whilst Ben Davies dropped deep on the opposite flank to offer defensive cover. Aurier recorded an assist from this position and could be a great pick if this tactical approach persists.

Manchester United’s young fullback, Brandon Williams (4.0m), scored his first senior goal last time out. He has started each of the last two league fixtures and played in a wingback role. His place in the team is far from assured but at 4.0m could be a reasonable cut-price option.

FPL Midfielders Tips

Our final Tottenham pick of the week is the much-maligned Dele Alli (8.4m). It’s been a difficult season for Alli who has fallen a long way from Real Madrid rumours a couple of years back. Nevertheless, Alli put in a solid performance against West Ham, picking up an assist for Heung-min Son. He has now returned in three of his last five games and has Mourinho’s backing.

Only Jamie Vardy took more shots inside the box than Wilfried Zaha (6.6m) last gameweek. The Ivorian has directly contributed to two of Palace’s last three goals and had the second-most touches in the box against Liverpool. He may be worth keeping an eye on ahead of some favourable fixtures.

Mason Mount (6.7m) was dropped for Chelsea’s loss to Manchester City. We expect him to return to the starting line up but there are doubts over his game time heading into a busy festive fixture list, especially with Ruben Loftus-Cheek approaching a return. With just one goal in the last eight, it may be time to consider the switch out the Chelsea man from your Fantasy Football starting line-up.

FPL Forwards Tips

Owned by just 3.9% of FPL managers at the time of writing, Danny Ings (6.0m) appears to be going under the radar for many. Understandably, Southampton assets aren’t the most fashionable right now but Ings has scored five goals in his last seven starts. He faces Watford, Norwich, Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa next.

Elsewhere, Harry Kane will be another popular inclusion and he’s been in good scoring form in the last few matches. He also has a habit of having a fruitful Christmas period so it may pay to have in your team ahead of the injured Sergio Aguero or Arsenal’s Aubameyang.
