Golf PGA Tour Betting Tips: Shriners Hospital for Children Open

Gofl betting tsPGA Tour golf betting tips

The PGA Tour rolls on this week as we head to Vegas for the next two weeks and this week it’s the Shriners Hospital for Children Open where Henry’s picked his golf tips.

This week we see the return of US Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau and the forever consistent duo of Webb Simpson and Patrick Cantlay. It is a decent field this week in which these three players head the market.

William Hill are one of only a couple of bookies playing 8 places for each-way bets this week and they’re also GUARANTEED to be top price for the top 20 players in the betting.

Collin Morikawa 20/1 (William Hill)

My first selection is COLLIN MORIKAWA 20/1 EW (WILLIAM HILL 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Morikawa made his debut in this event last year and was in a tie for 15th heading into the final round before a poor final round seen him finish 42nd. Fast forward twelve months and he is one of the best players on the planet. This was proven with a first Major victory in the summer as he won the PGA Championship. He returns to his beloved bentgrass greens in which has been a feature in all of his PGA Tour career wins to date along with a couple of runner-up finishes. He arguably should be a shorter price than what he is this week on a course that plays to his strengths and he’ll be eager to kick on again as we build up to the Masters.

Rickie Fowler 33/1 (William Hill)

My next selection is RICKIE FOWLER 33/1 EW (WILLIAM HILL 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Fowler made his professional debut here where he finished in seventh place. I’m hoping a return to this venue can show a return to the form we expect to see from Rickie. The course should play to his strengths as the greens will be slower than usual weeks which will suit his aggressive putting style and the emphasis on hitting fairways isn’t as strong as it would be in other weeks. He’s in desperate need of a strong showing as he continues to fall down the world rankings. He is too good to stay in a slump and it is a matter of when and not if he returns to form. This week provides a fantastic opportunity for him to do just that and the return to the winner’s circle for Sergio last week who was in a similar slump can only be seen as a positive.

Jason Day 33/1 (William Hill)

My next selection is JASON DAY 33/1 EW (WILLIAM HILL 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Day has had an up and down season and he often either competes for the title or misses the cut. At the prices available and with the course set up in his favour I’m willing to take a chance he competes for tournament victory on this occasion. He is similar to Rickie in terms of he needs a good week and this venue will give him the perfect chance to do just that. The greens will suit his putting style like Fowler and similar to Fowler the rough not being as thick as other weeks will take the pressure off the driver. His game isn’t far off and a nice break will have done him the world of good as he should be 100% fit.

Zach Johnson 50/1 (Paddy Power)

My final selection is ZACH JOHNSON 50/1 EW (PADDY POWER 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Johnson has been struggling for form for the most part of 2020 but recent efforts suggest his game is back to where it should be. The top 10 finish at the US Open would have game him so much confidence and he has backed that up with a solid top 25 last week. He now arrives at a course that suits him well and he will get plenty of chances to show off his wedge skills here. The unsettling weather forecast over the weekend won’t be an issue for him as he is a great grinder and will relish any windy/rainy conditions that come his way.
